Chapter 23

What did Himari roll?
A six!
"Six, finally!"
With that roll Himari finally managed to break away from last place, leaving her a few tiles ahead of Alice. The bad news however came when she realized she'd end up at ANOTHER green tile. She knew the greens all too well at this point. The last green she got left her with a body that was completely unrecognizable. She feared what might come next.
Rebecca stretched out for a green card and got to work reading it. It took a while, she stuttered at some of the big words and she almost jumped an entire line. She did get through it though. Both Himari and Bitch felt bad for the girl. Not Alice though, she couldn't give less of a shit about how the others fared, she was really fed up with this whole ordeal.
So young and pure, now filled with desire
Why not knock your level of indecency a tad higher?
A loose little cannon you are! Got caught red handed
Fitting for a vixen such as yourself, prepare to be branded!
Do you continue or chicken out?
Rebecca seemed really proud with herself, though she understood basically nothing of what she'd just read. Her knowledge and ability to read was untouched by the game. It was her ability to focus and make sense of things that required reflection and critical thinking that had been hit the hardest. She didn't try too hard to understand things though, her pretty little head was no longer fit for such demanding tasks. Try as she may, she couldn't muster up the willpower to try anyways. Her trashy low life self made sure of that. She felt like a prisoner in her own mind. Not that she was actually imprisoned, she was just ..restricted. Ogle her best friend? Sure! Decide on what she wants to eat? That's fine too! Study for that test next week? Forget about it. Hard work was no longer a word in her vocabulary. It was simply something to be avoided at all costs. Not that reading would be fruitful anyways, she'd probably get confused and angry within the first opening lines. Not to mention scared. Reading something she was supposed to understand, yet couldn't fathom, and knowing that this could very much be the rest of her life. It would terrify any sane person. Let alone a girl who's prided herself on hard work and academic brilliance for her whole life!
"The fuck did I just read? LOL. Half of these words don't even make sense! This is like, how a grandma would talk or something"
"Thank you for the insightful comment Rebecca, don't strain your brain too much now!"
Bitch was really treating her friend like a kid. At a glance, she very well could've been her mother. The sudden increase in age had definitely left a strain at both her body and her psyche. Sure, only her body had aged, but having to put up with not just the added mass, but also the older straining muscles? Her joints ached if only a little, her stamina had also taken a severe hit. Not to mention the mental strain of knowing that the twenty best years of your life had just gone down the drain. She knew these things all too well. In fact, if it hadn't been for the competitive nature of her last mental card she'd be absolutely sobbing right now. As with Rebecca, part of her knew that this was so very wrong. She didn't want to be an old hag! And WHO IN THE FUCK IS NAMED BITCH? She'd tried to remember her old name ever since the new one. But every time she got close to an answer, it just seemed to slip away. It was despairing to say the least. Beautiful in a sense, she was quite literally losing herself, watching the grains of her being slip between her aged fingers.
The other, more prominent part however dismissed anything that was of little importance to winning the game. As long as she didn't get so old that she was incapable of rolling the die it didn't matter. Even menopause was a few years off from now.
"The last change really messed with my body, I don't see a way for it to get any worse.. No offense Bitch" She was right though. Getting older would suck. But no part of the text suggested anything remotely similar to what Bitch's card had done.
"So I guess I'll continue.."
The card burst into flames out of Rebecca's hand. A phenomenon she'd actually seen quite a few times already, yet VERY amusing still, thanks to her diminished intellect.
There were no obvious changes happening to the little, yet big, girl. To her the card's effect was very much having an impact though. She could feel a searing pain on her lower back. When the burning sensation faded she was left with slightly numb skin, nothing painful. She figured she'd gotten away easy. With the pain, the location and the wording of the card she was able to make a rough estimate of what might've happened, she was in no rush to see what it ended up looking like though.

"Great, with that out of the way, why don't we take a breather?"
Bitch was actually getting a little tired and could use some rest. The game was intense enough as it was, with her older body, keeping up with her "younger" friends was a big ask. Before she got a confirmation however, Alice had already reached out for the die and initiated the next round by rolling. Maybe it was to spite Bitch, or maybe she was just eager to wish herself back to normal. No one but Alice knew, but the fact remained. They were on for another round..

Chicken out: The game
A simple transformative game of chicken
Welcome to chicken out! The game so good we spun it off unchanged!! Based on the concept of Mr_Anderson. This is a game of chicken. The players each take turns rolling a die, their game piece moves accordingly and they draw a card based on the color they land on. The cards contain a text with transformative properties. After reading the card, the player can then choose to either continue or chicken out. Easy, right?
