Erin checked out the hearse. There was nobody in it. She saw a large, flat package in the back. She got her knife and cut the package open.

It was that Picasso that was supposedly lost in the explosion. She understood what happened now, the thief using the explosion to hide the crime. She couldn't imagine how much a collector would pay for this painting.

"Now just who are you, thief?" she whispered to herself.
