You know it.

The bar was dim, dingy, and mostly empty. There were a couple of old guys nursing beers in a booth in the back and the bartender was watching the news on an old TV without much interest. He walked over to them as they sidled up to the bar.

"Hey folks, what can I get you?"

Jennifer spoke. "I'll have a glass of water, and my friend here will have three shots of Jameson."

The bartender raised his eyebrows skeptically as Mark turned to Jen. "Three shots? Are you kidding?"

"Fine, make it two." As the bartender turned to get the glasses, Mark made a face at Jen.

"Oh, come on, it's a couple of shots of whiskey. I only asked for three because I knew you'd try to weasel out of one of them."

The bartender returned with the shots and the water. Jen raised her glass. "To becoming better people." Mark grunted and tossed back the shot, then quickly repeated it with the second shot. The stuff was harsh in his throat and he could feel it burning in his stomach.

"Ok, so according to you I should start feeling it-whoa!" He felt kind of dizzy for a second. "What was that?"

She was watching him with a knowing smile. What had she done? Mark felt another wave of dizziness.

Jen quickly gestured for the bartender and asked for the bill. As she pulled her wallet out of her purse and retrieved her debit card, Mark stood up and started looking down at himself. "What's going on? I feel really different. Jen, I don't know about this." He suddenly crossed his legs. "Uh, Jen? I think something's really wrong."

The bartender brought back her card and she quickly signed the receipt and put her card back away. By now Mark had broken out in a sweat and gone pale. "What's going on? I'm changing a lot, Jen. Like, a lot." Tears formed in his eyes.

She was starting to feel a little bad for him, so she decided to let him in on the joke. "Hey bud, you forgot something." She nodded towards the bartender, then the men in the corner booth. "We're not alone in the bar."

He looked at her incredulously. His hair was already becoming shaggier and his shirt had transformed into a v-neck. "What the fuck?" he said, his voice a register higher.

She slapped him on the back. "Come on, you'll be fine. Let's get you out of here."

She turned and headed for the exit, with Mark stumbling hurriedly behind her.
