Melting An Ice Queen(Kenny Clark/Ava Clark)

It was the first Saturday night of the summer and it was an uncommonly hot one for the mountain town of Greenwall. The extra warmth breathed life into the town for the night, people were out on dates, throwing parties, hanging out with friends, and then there was Kenny. The teenager was closed in his bedroom with a fan blasting to keep him cool. "You sure you don't want to come over tonight, Ken? I'm so fucking booooooored," The pleading voice of Mindy Long asked through a video chat Kenny had up on his computer screen, "We can game here, I promise,"

Kenny sighed and gave his eyes a playful roll. Mindy was his best friend in the entire world, there was no doubt when it came to that. They had known each other since entering school as little kids, had each other's backs times beyond counting, and at the end of the day, they got each other in ways no one else ever could. "No, I'll get there and then you'll insist on watching "just one" movie, and before we know it, it'll be midnight and you'll be passed out,"

"No, No, No! I promise I promise! Come on pleeeeeeease," Mindy begged again.

Kenny sighed, he never had a chance, "Alright fine, give me a little bit and I'll come over,"

"Yes!" Mindy cheered from the video call, "I'll make a quick run for some snacks, see you soon, Ken!"

With that their call ended and Kenny got up from his office chair and stretched. Despite the ribbing he gave Mindy about it, he wasn't upset to be going over. They always had fun one way or the other, and considering that he was planning on doing jack shit anyway, he figured spending the night with Mindy was a far better use of his time.

Kenny grabbed his old high school backpack and stuffed in a change of clothes, along with a few other items including two movies that he knew Mindy liked, "And for when I show up and she asks for "just one" movie," Kenny zipped up his pack with a breathy laugh.

Bang - Bang - Bang

Kenny turned his head as he heard the loud pounding come from the front door. He pulled the pack over his shoulder and headed over to the door as another volley of bangs filled his ears. "Hey, take it easy, I'm coming!" Kenny called out as another set of bangs came before the front door suddenly came flying open, "Hey what the hell?!" Kenny furiously exclaimed while rounding the corner before halting in place.

Standing before him was a short woman dressing in a gorgeous tight-fitting blue sequence dress, her curly black hair wrapped around her face beautifully and her make-up only made her natural attractiveness pop. Though in an instant Kenny was able to pick out the way she had a slight wobble, how her dress was hiked up just a touch too high, and there was of course the absolutely frighteningly cold glaze over her blue eyes. It was his aunt, Ava Clark, and that was certainly the last person he expected to be letting herself into his home.

"You couldn't answer the door, Kenneth?!" Ava snapped out as she stormed in with just a slight wobble and slammed the door shut behind her,

Kenny frowned, as attractive as a woman as his aunt was, he wasn't exactly a fan. Ava had always been a...turbulent member of the family. For one, Juliet did not get along with her mother in the slightest. From what Kenny could tell, Ava gave her daughter just about everything but attention and genuine affection, always too business with personal ventures or "off on business"; one of Juliet's least favorite catchphrases. Then there was his personal dealing with the woman, which was few and far in between over his life, but similarly, she didn't seem to hold her nephew in very high regard. He got a birthday card with some cash in it and then a few side comments before she'd disappear.

Kenny cleared his mind, reminding himself that she was still his elder, his dad's sister, and family above all else, "Sorry, I was packing a bag in my bedroom, I'll try to be quicker next time," He muttered back with a hint of sarcasm that Ava either missed or willfully ignored,

"Julie!" Ava shouted out in a demanding, hard tone, "Juliet get out here this instant!"

"Aunt Ava, Julie isn't here," Kenny informed the woman who spun around, holding her arms out to balance herself, "Do you need to sit down?"

"Don't patronize me," Ava snapped causing Kenny to step back and let out a frustrated exhale, "Where is my daughter, Kenneth?"

"Out with my mom and dad. Since you were supposed to be gone tonight, they were taking her out for dinner and a movie for graduation," Ava let out a groan and stomped her foot, making Kenny nearly smirk. If anything, he could at least see where Juliet got her brattiness, "They should be home in a few hours,"

"Oh, of course, my wonderful brother and his perfect fucking wife are out with my daughter to celebrate and where am I? Oh, that's right, here with their son! How nice of them to not include us!" Ava bitterly sneered.

Kenny narrowed his brow, "I didn't go out of choice since I wanted Juliet to have some time with them, and you were invited Aunt Ava, you told them that you had a date tonight that couldn't be pushed, remember?"

"Don't get smart with me, kid!" Ava stuck out a finger and glared at her nephew, "I have not had a good night in the slightest and I don't need a child to give me any lip, got that?!"

Kenny rolled his eyes and let out another slow exhale, keeping his cool, "Okay, fine, sorry. Look, I'm heading out, so you can feel free to wait here until they get back. I'm sure they'll have no problem with you staying the night or driving you home,"

"Pheh, as if I need my brother for anything else," Ava snarkily retorted, "I'm leaving. My wonderful daughter can enjoy her night with her favorite side of the family and find me when it suites her,"

"Why do you gotta be so fucking mean to Julie? She doesn't do anything to you," Kenny suddenly snapped out.

His own eyes widened at the outburst and Ava shot a cold glare, "I've had enough out of you," Ava hissed as she reached into her purse and grabbed her keys, "Advice you should take? Watch your fucking mouth with people, you'll get farther in life," Kenny's eyes stared at his aunt's keys and on instinct, he walked right over and grabbed them from her hand, "Excuse me?! Give me those back right fucking now!"

"Aunt Ava you've been drinking, you're barely able to walk straight, I'm not letting you get behind the wheel!" Kenny exclaimed, utterly bewildered,

Ava stormed after Kenny who frantically backed away, "I drove myself from the restaurant to this house perfectly fine, you are going to give me those keys right now, that's an order,"

"No I will not," Kenny firmly denied, continuing to back away from the woman, "Drunk and angry is a bad mix without being in a car,"

"Damn it, Kenny, you give me those keys, I'm not a fucking kid!" Ava screamed out. Kenny gulped, Ava was certainly in a foul mood, more than he had ever seen before. He knew the right thing would be to keep his aunt's keys away from her, even if that meant dealing with her mouth for a few hours until his parents got home. Then again, she already drove here fine, if he just gave them back he could head over to Mindy's as intended and save himself for the ringing ears and headache to come.
