Chapter 3
by
Nyortha
“A wine, red and fruity, if possible.”
“A wine, red and fruity, if possible.”
His head offering a polite bow, his ears gently flopping along as he did.
“Of course, give me but a moment!”
Squatting down he would retrieve one of the finer silver wine goblets and place it on the counter above. The clanking of glass was heard, as he sorted through the different bottles. He really needed to talk with the Lady about the chaos that always returned to these shelves. He pulled a promising looking bottle out by its neck, inspecting it for but a moment.
“Aha! There you are!”
Straightening himself he would begin to work the corkscrew into the sealant. Wiggling and pulling he slowly wrestles it free until that satisfying ‘plop’ is heard. Carefully filling the goblet halfway before simply leaving the bottle on the counter.
“Here you are, Miss, one nice red wine. Do let me know if there is anything not to your satisfaction.”
A smile on his lips as he watched the woman. She seemed rather delighted at the choice. Taking the Goblet gracefully between her fingers, spinning the liquid within, as her own gaze studied him.
“Thank you dearly… ehm… are you a barmaid per-chance? Or are you simply working behind the bar for now?”
He kept a smile on his lips as he returned his hands to the polishing of the cups.
“Oh, I am a barmaid, Miss. It has been a while since I last worked here though, I have been… preoccupied… but I got some free time so I figured I would indulge myself once more.”
Her gaze studied his frame once more. He never considered himself to be too special. Though he was aware that, through various comments by various patrons, that his rather feminine appearance, rabbit ears and fluffy tail seemed to strike the odd patrons fancy.
“Understandable… kepps the mind sharp and the body fit. The coin surely helps too. Dunno if it’s rude to say but I’m sure you’d make -alot- as a harlot aswell!”
His ears twitched at the woman's words. A blush settled noticeable on his cheeks, as his right reached up to scratch his ear in embarrassment.
“Haha… that is… awfully nice of you Miss. Though I am not sure if many would appreciate me as such… Not to mention I cannot hold a candle to our more beautiful patrons, such as you, Miss…”
“Though, who knows, … maybe I will try one day…”
