The weirdest conversation of his life

He stared at himself. She stared back. Neither moved for a second, then Ben (the other Ben) broke the silence. "Did it work? How- how do you feel?"

She put a hand to her forehead. No, his forehead. A few strands of light blond hair fell loose from her ponytail. He brushed them out of the way distractedly.

"I-" He stopped. What was wrong with his voice? He needed to sit down, he was getting really lightheaded. "What's happening to me?"

The other Ben guided him to the couch, where he collapsed. His clothes felt so tight, and his legs were cold. Looking down, he was shocked to see a female body covered with a tight dress. No, she thought, this is what I wore out. Ben was glancing at her nervously. "Amanda?"

That's not my name. "Yeah?" She responded woozily. Ben paused.

"...Ben?"

He looked up at Ben. Things were starting to come into focus. There was some kind of... thing. A device? It was all hazy, but he seemed to remember a plan to use it on herself. On Amanda. He closed his eyes and tried to puzzle it out for a second.

"I'm... Ben. Yeah. I'm Ben."

She opened her eyes. He was definitely Ben. But he was looking at Ben. What did the device do?

"But I'm Amanda. How am I Amanda? We- I- I feel like Amanda, but I'm Ben."

The other Ben grinned. "Looked like it worked, buddy! Seems like it kinda scrambled your brains a little bit, but I'm sure you'll recover soon."
