The Curse Reaches Out

As has been mentioned, the curse is able to affect even women Sarah has not met if they've had a significant impact on her life indirectly, through motivation or inspiration. However, it does not necessarily affect every woman she meets as some of those women do not significantly affect her life or become a part of it. This is why it hasn't affected every female cashier at your grocery store, or every female guest at the resort you were staying at. Retail and service employees frequently were untouched by the curse because when they do their jobs correctly they seem to almost fade into the background.

Of course, there are exceptions to this. Most of the women who helped with your wedding were affected by the curse because they were directly involved in a very important day in Sarah's life and she'd had several meetings with them while planning the day. Your travel agent was affected because Sarah had been her client for a few years. The masseuse at the spa was affected because of how impressed Sarah had been by her massage, enough to recommend the service to you. But other hotel staff had been overlooked by the curse.

Some, however, had become important enough to your stay at the resort that the curse had expanded to them today. In some cases this had happened mere moments before you'd come through the hotel lobby with Tara, which was the reason you'd felt like there was something different about the lobby. You had subconsciously caught sight of some women recently affected by the curse and now quite a bit different than a few days before. Of course, the curse kept you from consciously realizing how impossible the dramatic changes some of them had undergone were. The curse was helped in this by the fact that you hadn't paid them much attention before the curse affected them.

Sarah had returned to the room early in the morning. Apparently, while out shopping with Lucy they had run into her cousin Katrina and the three of them had gone to an all night dance club. She said they had lost track of time, though you suspected it was for a different reason than you would lose track of time if dancing with both Lucy and Katrina. Exhausted, she collapsed into bed. You gave her a kiss on the forehead before you left the room and said, "Now who thinks they can still act like a teenager." As you left the room you encountered the regular housekeeper assigned to your room.

Until that moment you'd been fairly certain she was a middle aged woman of some Latin descent you weren't certain of. You were also pretty sure that the usual housekeeping outfit included a much longer skirt and a much higher neckline. Long hair in multiple shades of brown cascaded around her face and touched lightly upon her abundant cleavage as you passed in the hallways. Her brilliant brown eyes and sensual lips gave you a playful smile as your eyes roamed over her body. A plaid, pleated skirt completed what she was wearing as she pushed the housekeeping cart down the hallway. "Good morning, Mr. Johnson, I trust you slept well," she greeted you as your eyes lingered on her long legs.

"What?", you responded as her greeting broke your train of thought about how fantastic she looked. "Oh, yes, of course. Thanks. My wife is asleep in the room right now, please don't disturb her."

"Oh, don't worry, Mr. Johnson. I've been careful not to disturb the women in any of the rooms you've been in," she said as she continued on down the hallway, your mind not absorbing her words until she'd turned a corner. It appeared that while your wife may not have been aware of your recent activities, some of the hotel staff were. You didn't know it at the time, but it was keeping that secret from your wife that had made the housekeeper a target of the curse as she knew a dark secret about Sarah's husband that Sarah didn't know. For the curse's purposes, that made her part of Sarah's life.

You decided not to chase after the beautiful maid and beg her not to tell Sarah what she'd seen. The way she mentioned knowing that you'd been in other women's rooms made it sound like she was enjoying knowing a naughty secret about you. Instead, you continued down to the concierge desk to ask about what entertainment options there were outside the resort. Sarah had been talking to the concierge quite a bit recently. It was on her recommendation that Sarah had planned most of her more spontaneous activities that had not been part of the package your travel agent had set up.

When you laid eyes on the woman standing near the concierge stand you immediately wished you had asked about activities yourself instead of taking Sarah's recommendations. She was petite in stature, but packed an impressive amount of sex appeal into that small form. Her tight black dress had flared shoulder straps to make it look more elegant, but the cut of the neckline was clearly styled to draw the eye. You had difficulty getting your eyes to leave the proudly displayed upper part of her breasts to look over the rest of her.

The dress hugged a slim waist before flaring out slightly over her hips and upper thighs, ending quite high on her luscious legs. When your eyes at last moved up to her large brown eyes, long brown hair and sensual lips you found it hard to speak. You had no doubt that any men who came to use her services tipped very well, whether she was a good concierge or not. Women were probably quite a bit pickier about the recommendations she made.

"Mr. Johnson, it's usually your pretty young wife who comes to see me, I'm so glad you've decided to change things up," she greeted you, already having given you the once over before you had managed to finish staring at her.
