What's next?
Meanwhile, at the TVA 3
Ravonna looked dubiously across the desk to Mobius. The TVA was often something of a well-oiled machine; still, there were occasionally moments where they needed to break protocol slightly. Irritation might be a better word than threat - the variant Loki hadn't done anything that couldn't be undone, but it was a constant distraction from the agency's usual duties.
Even before, well, this. Ravonna looked down at the latest report, and grimaced.
"What do you need?" she said.
"Time," Mobius said. "We've kept the aberrant timeline from bisecting further, but so far haven't found a way to prune. We hope to... adapt, the same as ever, but she's an unknown factor."
Ravonna pursed her lips. Every now and again, the TVA faced a more dangerous threat.
"Keep me updated," Ravonna said. "Every failure."
"One other thing," Mobius said. "We're still getting, ahem, new variants."
"Naked women, you mean?" Ravonna said. She sighed. "I'll take care of the briefings. You focus on the Asgardian."
"Will do," Mobius said.
Ravonna preferred being a judge, truth be told. Still, she'd filled other roles before, and when they were stretched a little thin, she could shuffle back to interrogator - Mobius had more immediate experience with the practical concerns. "Betty Ross?" she said.
There was a dark haired woman opposite, wearing nothing except a blush, with her hands very tightly clinging to the front of her body as though it wasn't palpably clear that she was naked.
"I- I don't know what happened," Betty said, voice high.
"There should have been a presentation," Ravonna said. She sighed. "Blonde woman appeared and took your clothes. Correct?"
"Huh? She had dark hair," Betty said. Her blush deepened. "Was very, um..."
Ravonna rolled her eyes.
"Okay. The Loki variant was travelling with a Hela variant at the time. Nothing new," Ravonna said.
Betty wriggled, squeaking awkwardly. Ravonna, impatiently, gestured to a watching guard to take her away; Betty yelped again as she moved.
"Kate Bishop?" Ravonna said.
Yet another black-haired woman was naked across the desk, just as red and just as fidgety. She squealed. Ravonna pinched the bridge of her nose.
"I don't know how Mobius could stand talking to so many of you," she muttered.
"Really getting over this whole 'people keep using my whole name' thing," Kate muttered. "No one told me this vigilante thing would end in this much nudity."
"It really shouldn't," Ravonna said. "This recent spell is... unexpected."
"There were so many in the queue!" Kate said. "Same crazy blonde?"
"I assume you saw her," Ravonna said.
"She broke into Clint's house!" Kate said. "And she made me- um. I mean I guess you can tell."
"And was it just her?"
"Do I need to watch out for anyone else?" Kate said, wide-eyed. "People keep breaking into where I stay. It's becoming kinda a problem."
The next woman in the cell was dark-skinned, with her dark hair pulled back. She crossed her arms tightly over her chest, glowering as effectively as she could with clear self-consciousness in her eyes.
"Hm," Ravonna said. "We get very few Eternals here. Your people are usually better at keeping to their assigned paths. How did the Loki get into _your _head?"
There was a pause. Makkari sat firmly in place, arms crossed; Ravonna sighed.
"I can read sign language," Ravonna said. "This is an interrogation. Answer me."
Makkari moved quickly, twitchy, flashing her breasts for half a second to gesture a 'What?' before resuming crossing her arms. Ravonna sighed, wearily.
"Blonde woman. Benn running through the timelines, taking clothes from a lot of the people she passes," Ravonna said. "She did meet with you?"
There was a pause. Sign language didn't contain obvious 'ums' and 'ers,' but there was clear thought that went into her gestures that unwittingly gave off a sense of hesitation.
...Yes?
"...Were you just sitting around naked and she just happened to show up?" Ravonna said.
There was a longer pause. Makkari looked away. Ravonna sighed.
"Next!"
Xu Xialing was sat across the table, arms cuffed behind her back after she'd gotten into more than a few scuffles with the guards. Her ankles had been bound too, for much the same reason, leaving her toned body unavoidably displayed. She did her best not to squirm as Ravonna took notes.
"I have nothing to say to you," Xialing said.
"We're looking to capture the blonde that, well..." Ravonna said. She gestured. Xialing glowered. "Why is no one helpful?"
Xialing squirmed as best as she could against the restraints. Okay, Ravonna reflected, it was impressive how Mobius actually sat down and managed to deal withthese people day in and day out. She made a note. Xialing looked at her with narrow eyes, doing her best to not show how embarrassed she was.
"Okay, put her in a memory cell with all the rest," Ravonna said tiredly. "How many more are there?"
Another naked, bronze-skinned woman, who, rather than site, was crouched behind the chair and shooting awkward glanced behind her at the guard that stood by the room's door. Said guard wasn't moving despite the prisoner's evident self-consciousness.
"So..." Ravonna began. She went down the list of names. "Huh, another Kate. Or Katy?"
There was a pause.
"On a dark desert highway!" Katy suddenly started to sing. Ravonna blinked. "Cool wind in my hair!"
She was still awkwardly holding an arm over her breasts, and one on her lap. Ravonna closed her eyes, frustrated. After a couple of verses, she gestured for the latest nervous ****-nudist to be taken away too.
"How many more?!" Ravonna said, disbelieving. She sighed. "Mobius, I swear, you'd better be right about this drawing her back or we're going to run out of infinity."
The latest was a blonde, her hair pale, and her body remarkably firm and toned - she was as bound as Xialing had been, her efforts to fight the guards having proven a hindrance. Still, for all the defiance in her eyes, there was no hiding the pink in her cheeks (nor the pink of other places, for that matter).
Her hand twitched, grabbing at the empty air.
"Another Eternal?" Ravonna said. "Magic doesn't work here. Not even yours."
"What is this place?" Thena said.
"Did no one watch the presentation?" Ravonna said. She groaned. "Blonde woman who took your clothes. Tell me what you know."
Thena's face flushed deeper. Rather than answer, she lunged - even bound, the chair went flying back behind her and she thrust her hands forwards, as if to throttle Ravonna.
There was a flash, and the time-twister around her neck activated, leaving her falling to the floor where she had been. Thena landed with an irate thump.
"This is getting tedious," Ravonna said. "Give her a memory cell too. Somewhere populated."
"Daisy Johnson?" Ravonna said. She paused. "Huh, do you come from the sacred timeline or not? This data is really unclear."
"Am I supposed to know what that means?" Daisy said. She fidgeted. "Can I get something to wear?"
"You were taken out of time, lined up in a queue, made to sign various documents, and now you're in an interrogation," Ravonna said. "What part of that made you feel like your modesty is that important to us?"
Daisy bit her lip. "Did kinda notice," she muttered, awkward.
Daisy wasn't alone - May was next to her, the two taken from the same point in the timeline, and the two very naked. Daisy tried very hard to not look sideways and be reminded of her CO's presence; May did her best to seem stern, not crossing her arms with anywhere near the obviousness of Daisy.
"What happened to you two?" Ravonna said, firmly.
"She took my clothes!" Daisy said indignantly, gesturing with her head towards May. More sullenly, she muttered: "_Not _how I imagined that happening, believe me."
May cleared her throat. "There was a... stranger. She affected my mind."
"We're aware of her," Ravonna said. "And was she with anyone? Someone dark-haired, perhaps?"
"No one else," Daisy said. She shifted. "Can we please get something to wear now?"
Ravonna ignored her. So she'd split from Hela at some point - that had been a theory, and it seemed consistent.
How many was that now? Ravonna had lost count of the various frustrating, pointless interrogations she'd had. A Loki variant who'd caused a bit of chaos with Hela, and now travelled alone, and who'd stripped a wealth of women throughout time. Most were, now, in memory cells, left nude during various points in their life in the hope the embarrassment would soften them up a little.
Ravonna's eyes went up and up as she read through the list of cases. Angie Martinelli, a Valkyrie, Pepper Potts-Stark, Lady Sif, Jessica Jones, Okoye, Sharon Carter, two separate iterations of Ava Starr, Hope Pym, Gamora, Darcy Lewis, Wanda Maximoff, Natasha Romanoff, Betty Ross, Kate Bishop, Makkari, Xu Xialing, Katy Chen, Thena, Daisy Johnson, and Melinda May, and now...
Rather than in her interrogation room, she was glad to be back in court. A mildly mortified-looking woman was urged down to the dock by a guard's stick.
"Michelle Watson?" Ravonna said.
"Jones," she squeaked. She swallowed, and did her best to level out her voice despite very clearly quivering behind her slim, bare arms, barely hiding anything behind them. "I want you to know, I don't recognize the authority of this court. Um. Whatever this court is."
She fidgeted. Ravonna sighed - it wasn't her first MJ. There were an alarming amount of variants surrounded the Spider-Man, truth be told.
"You are guilty of crimes against the sacred timeline," Ravonna began. "What- Oh, why am I even bothering at this point? Give her a cell, and tell Mobius to hurry it up."
It was good to have a few minutes to herself. There was a reason she'd moved to being a judge rather than all this investigation; it wasn't that she was bad at it, just that it was maddeningly annoying. A lot of people with no understanding of the importance of the sacred timeline, and endless difficulties.
A rogue variant with a TemPad, and no concept of the harm being done...
There was a rap on her door. Quickly, Ravonna straightened, rubbing her eyes so as to look alert. She was waiting in the interrogation room, on the off-chance she felt like there was a question it was worth asking - it wasn't clear how many of the nude variants knew anything of use about the Loki.
And an alarm was blaring. Miss Minutes popped up to warn her of a portal left open in Sokovia; hopefully the walls would stay up. Still, in the mean time, she quickly invited the guard at the door in - it was probably better ro not be out in the hallways unless you were poised to fight the suddenly invading robots.
One more frustration.
At the door was another TVA guard, helmet on tight, accompanied by yet another naked woman - a blonde, with slight curves, and an undeniable firmness to her figure. She was flushed, grumbling a little to herself.
"Another?" Ravonna said.
The guard nodded silently.
"Terrible plan," the blonde muttered.
"Normally they'd stand trial first," Ravonna said. She paused, and heard an explosion down the hallway - quickly, she locked the door, and set it into temporal stasis so that even if it was blown apart, it would stay in place. "Then again, this isn't normal. When this latest incident is dealt with, take her to the court."
"They said to come to you," the guard said, voice muffled. "This is Yelena Belova."
"Yelena?" Ravonna said. "Someone else who encountered our variant, I presume."
Yelena blushed. She mumbled something.
"What was that?" Ravonna said.
"I really don't like this plan," Yelena murmured.
Then she threw herself at Ravonna, launching herself up into the air; Ravonna went to trigger her time-twister automatically, only to find there was no response from Yelena's collar. Instead, a pair of bare thighs wrapped around her neck in a move that would probably have made Yelena blush less if she'd had her clothes on.
And then Ravonna was pinned to the floor, below the naked spy, as the unhelpful seeming-guard knelt, and took off her helmet. Sylvie looked down at Ravonna, expression set, as Yelena stayed blushing furiously.
"Can I have her shirt? I would like a shirt," Yelena said.
"Later," Sylvie said. Ravonna glared back. "Oh, I remember you. Now. You're going to tell me where I can find the prisoners, and where I can find the Timekeepers."
