Ocean City

Ocean City was a coastal metropolis with a shocking amount of volcanic activity. It was also the last known location of Power Girl, and so you and Supergirl dropped down from hypersonic speeds as you cruised over the sprawling city. You began with a simple sweep, you using your Astral Vision to search for Power Girl's sunny aura, while Kara had to rely on a mix of X-Ray and Telescopic vision.

"Do you think it was lava men?" Kara asks.

"It's not always lava men in Ocean City..."

"So you're saying it could be lava men."

You share a small giggle at her tone, helping to stave off the concern for Power Girl. Honestly, you hope it is lava men. That Power Girl's communicator is just melted and you'll find her complaining that everyone worried for nothing and you can get straight to the flirting. Because someone as strong as Power Girl should be able to handle lava men... at least long enough to call for help. If there is something stronger here, things could get serious.

But then... the city hasn't taken any damage. When the lava men appear, it's very clear how much damage they've done, unsubtle monsters that they are. Casting your mind back, you remember hearing that the last incursion saw the League manage to bansih the latest wave of lava men to a volcanic world where they could live happily...

"Wait, I see her!" You announce, picking out the flare of Power Girl's sunlight under the sea, down where the old lava men caves lie.

Leading the way underwater, you make your way into the caverns. Once inside you take a protective step in front of Kara.

"I can see it in my aura vision, this place is lined with magic. Be careful."

Kara nods. Her kryptonian vulnerablity to magic putting her on a backfoot. Gingerly she slips her hand into yours.

"For safety." She smiles.

Travelling further in, it isn't long before you come to a grand chamber, Kara gasping at the sight. Dangling in the centre of the room, beaten and worn hangs Power Girl from great iron chains.

"Karen!" Kara drops your hand, reflexively beginning to fly to the aide of her other self. But in your aura vision you can see the sunlight aura, and it's not emanating from Power Girl.

"Look out!" you cry, racing to the maid of steel's side, catching a fist in your hand as Power Girl's attacker makes herself known.
