Chapter 26 by NoWay6969 NoWay6969

Who Helps?

Everyone! (Honest)

David looked around at the pained faces. “Okay, here’s the deal. I have three not bad bad cards. I have Edged, Werewolf, and Hot. I know they don’t sound the best but if you agree I’ll let you get first dibs on what you get.” Kody stared at him, frowning at the words werewolf.

If anyone was to get that card he knew it would be him, much to his annoyance. He looked up at Caiden, his brothers face stuck in indecision. Kody let out a small yap to catch his attention.

“Yeah?” Caiden smirked at the older male. Kody pointedly looked between him and the cards. “Oh, I mean. If your doing it I will. Better we all do it than only a portion of us and we get cursed for nothing. Right?” Greg grunted, the man deep in thought.

David turned to Kody with a sales person’s smile. “Okay. Werewolf card says it’s a horny werewolf. If you don’t want that one that’s all good, we also have the Hot card. It’s description sounds good, ‘Total hottie alert!’” David set the card down grinning with pained eyes.

“There’s always a catch though.” David grabbed the card again and slammed down the edging card with a bit too much ****. “What does it say? It’s upside down.”

“This is the edging card. It says ghost fun so I think it would be nice. Honestly if I were to choose it would be Hot, but there is no shame in the edging card. It probably has the best description if you wanted clarity.”

Kody turned to Caiden and then Greg. They all stared at the wolf eared boy. “O-okay. Uhm, fine I’ll help.”

Greg was next to speak, his body sparking into action. “I get next dibs then. I want that hot card.” Kody frowned but realized he was probably better off getting the werewolf card. He was the most familiar with being a dog. But then again he would be able to translate any dog speech.

“Shit, welp… Fuck it! Give me the edging.” David passed the two cards out and then turned to Caiden who just held out his hand for the werewolf card. The board shook again, all five of the red cards flung into the center of the board. With a bright flash the cards disappeared.

When they looked back at the board again each character token was back up and standing, a small bag attached to them in some manner. A singular yellow card sat where the red ones just were. David grabbed it, his face pleasantly surprised.

Rewards are cards in which their affects stay after the game even if the winner takes back scenarios.” David pursed his lips before flipping it over. Sure it was classified as a reward, but the game has made it clear their values don’t align.

“Risk-Reward; For success in the Risky Roads challenge anyone who has taken a curse card is protected from the next curse card they grab.” Caiden happily cheered. Kody simply smirked. Greg was looking at David confused. It didn’t say the cards they just grabbed were gone though.

David kept speaking, his own smile apparent. “The winner of this challenge now gets to change the curses everyone has received. Only one word may be added, removed, or changed -within reason.” Greg’s eyes widened as he looked at David’s still smiling face. “You may now change the curses.”

The doe on the board ran up to him, the bag strapped on its back seemed silly. The second it reached the edge of the board the Doe stopped. With a confused glance around David decided to open the tiny bag.

When he did two red cards flew out to him. The same ones he was left with. A singular red pen appeared in his other hand, seemingly from thin air. It was obvious what the game wanted of him though.

What does he do?
