Tell her that you want to talk

“Hey,” you say, getting serious for a second. “Can we meet up tomorrow? I want to talk.”

There’s a pause. “Talk,” Colby repeats neutrally.

“Yes.” You scratch at your forehead with your thumb. Like… you know that Colby is awkward, but does she have to be awkward about this? “Can we have lunch?”

The pause is longer.

“OK,” Colby says finally, a hint of shyness there. You just tacitly called her out on her avoidance of what happened. That kiss last night was weird, but if it hadn’t meant something to Colby, she wouldn’t have tried so hard not to talk about it.

“OK,” you say back.

You quit the Discord with a sigh, removing your headphones and putting them aside. You shut your laptop and roll over to get up.

“Yeek!”

Nancy and Yuki are both in your open doorway. Nancy has a pint of ice cream in her hand, and she’s eating with wide eyes. Yuki has a beer can in her hand that is probably empty. They’re both just looking at you.

You’re naked. You snap your legs together and try to cover yourself.

“What the fuck?” you demand, heart pounding.

“It just…” Yuki says, making a face. “Sounded weird in here. We were just checking on you. Some… naked video games, huh?”

“Yup,” Nancy adds, licking her spoon.

“Are you guys just looking at me naked?”

“We’re just making sure you’re OK,” Nancy says, nudging Yuki with her elbow.

“And our careful review,” Yuki says, glancing up at her. “Has come to the conclusion that your little booty when you’re all excited is very cute.”

“Oh my god. Go to bed,” you say.

Nancy laughs and disappears into the hallway. Yuki remains for a moment, her eyes lingering on you. She blows you a little kiss, then follows Nancy.

God. These girls. You figured they were asleep by now. Were you being that loud? Yeah… there at the end, but you can’t help it. Yelling out ‘Let’s goooo!’ in a streamer voice when you win something is one of the finest things in life. Besides, you like to think that you and Colby harmonize well when you do it together.

Shivering, you hop out of bed and close and lock your door. You need to get to Athena quick, or she’ll think that you forgot, but you can’t go anywhere like this. That raid got pretty intense, and you sweat when that’s going on, so you put on some fresh deodorant, then reach for jammies, but…

You don’t know what kind of mood Athena is in, especially now that you’ve kept her waiting, but supposing she is feeling like being the onee-sama of your dreams… what does she want to see her cute underclassman wearing? You pull on a pair of plain, white panties and a little yellow undershirt. It would make sense to go in jammies, but you never know. You were tired before, but you’re wide away now. You also put on your chunky, red-rimmed glasses because you don’t feel like messing with your contacts anymore today.

Barefoot and still very chilly, you venture into the hallway and trot the corner, take a right, and head down to Athena’s door, which is ajar.
