Entering Into an Mysterious Facility

Deep within a mysterious airborne lab facility, a low hum radiates from one of its rooms. The room was massive, having tons of equipment strewn about, all with the goal of supporting this arc-shaped device with gear at the bottom of it. But most interestingly, in the center of the arc was an orange, crystal-like energy construct with a lock in the center of it. This device was held over a glowing abyss, an abyss of all possibilities interacting at one point. This was a Cauldron, a gateway into The Boundary.

The humming of the Cauldron was soon drowned out by the sound of metal creaking. The floor of the room gained a green glow as it began to heat up. Something was making its way through the bottom of the facility. The creaking began to get louder and louder until finally it burst open with an explosion that shook the facility. As the dust settled, a short girl with orange hair and green eyes stood just in front of the hole she created. She wore a white blouse with a green skirt that was supported by overall straps. Between her blouse and skirt was a black midsection where the overalls were connected to. She wore black gloves that reached to her wrist, and her legs were black as well. No, not that she wore black boots, but that her legs were black, designed to look like boots. They had a green glow running through the sides of them, similar to the "power button," which was located on the black collar of her outfit. The girl looked up at the Cauldron, her eyes changing shape as she stared at it. Eventually, the girl moved her hand to her hair and began to speak, "Salutations command, this is Penny Polendina reporting! I’ve located the energy source I had picked on earlier. It's located in a lab floating near Atlas. It seems to be using technology to avoid its precedence from being picked up on the my or the command center scanners. " Penny then paused for a bit, seeming to be listening to someone else on the other side of her communication, before beginning to speak again, "I’m sending you the coordinates now. The facility is seemingly empty; I’m not picking up any heat or aura signatures within it. Though I’ll still perform a-"Before she could finish what she was about to say, Penny was interrupted by the Cauldron humming even louder. No, not just the sound, but through Penny’s eyes, her robotic eyes, she could see the energy that she had picked up earlier was beginning to rise.

The Cauldron glowed as the lock in its center became undone. Through the intense brightness, Penny spotted the silhouette of a woman dropping from it. As the light subsided, the appearance of the woman became clear to the Protector of Mantle. The girl seemed to be similar in age to Penny, at least in appearance, and she was ten centimeters shorter than the robot girl. She had pale skin, though her hair was even paler, as it was already white. Her hair was long and was held in a ponytail that reached her feet. At the end of the ponytail was a dagger of some sort. The girl had a piercing red eye that stared intensely at Penny, the other eye being covered by an eyepatch with a similarly coloured center. She wore a light-blue, skin-tight jumpsuit with long sleeves and short legs. She was barefoot, her toenails painted a bright blue like her fingernails and jumpsuit. Over her jumpsuit, the girl wore a white cloak that covered her chest and opened up at the waist. The cloak had rings attached all over it, each one having a red talisman hanging from it. She looked fragile, yet something was intimidating about her; something about that cold expression was not sitting right with Penny.

Penny's eyes began to scan the girl, trying to form further understanding of her

"Excuse me, miss, is everything all right?" Penny asked, though it seemed to be toward deafened ears, for she didn’t get a response. Just that same cold stare. Penny began to become worried. She hadn’t picked up any signs of life earlier, and now she was. This woman appeared from out of nowhere and seemed to be giving off similar energy readings to the machine behind her. She wasn’t hostile yet, which was good. "Miss, is everything all right?" Penny reiterated to make sure the woman standing before her heard her. When met with the exact same cold, red stare, Penny added on, "Perhaps it would be for the best that you come with me, Atlas is already sending over a team to help investigate the area. Perhaps you could come back with us and you could be medically eval-"

"Scanning." The girl finally spoke up, her voice high and as deadpan as her expression. Penny blinked in confusion, not quite understanding what the girl had just said. "Scanning." The girl repeated monotonously, a robotic tone to her voice. Was she being scanned? Penny’s own scans hadn’t shown there to be a robotic nature to her, though at the same time, she didn’t seem quite human, nor was she a faunus. "Subject is completely cybernetic in nature. Powered by an unknown means, " The girl said bluntly. "Subject is working for the military of Atlas. Method of removal suggested: Elimination. " The words flowed out of her mouth easily and coldly as before, though the way she said elimination, there seemed to be a hint of something more sinister in her voice besides the word being ominous in of itself.

Penny’s eyes widened in response to what the girl had said, a panel on her back opening, which allowed for ten black swords to come out of her. Each blade had the same green energy running through them that Penny’s legs have. The rounded hilt area of them had a power button in the center of them. In return, the girl, ν-No.13- responded by summoning a giant sword which crashed into the ground behind her, stirring up some dust. When the dust cleared, Nu-13 had a new appearance. While she still wore her light-blue jumpsuit, her cloak was gone, and now she had white armour sections on her body. A visor with antennas on it covered her eyes, a red glow emanating from the center of it. She now had a harness over her chest which had a blue jewel in the center of it, along with it providing shoulder guards. The white and blue shoulder guards now attached to Nu provided arm guards, which each had a blue blade attached to the end of them. Most distinctly, the lower section of her body was now armoured, her hips now having these pieces that glowed green attached to them and her legs now having an armoured legging over them, ones that looked like blades themselves. Swords seemed to be a continuing theme for her, as right behind her were eight blue blades, all floating behind the artificial woman, seeming to form a winglike formation.

While Penny’s feet were still planted on the ground, Nu was floating, hovering just above the ground. Penny narrowed her eyes as she stared at her foe, her opponent’s face remaining unchanged, it now being further unreadable thanks to the visor. The two girls stood there at a standstill, waiting for the other to act.
