First time Jitters (Love Bug, PDA, Raw Doggin)

The table seemed oddly quiet as the family filled in. Kody made a point to look everywhere but Caiden, his face a permanent red. Greg tried his best to not suggest another person was sleeping only a room over. David ignored the extra car in the driveway and instead was focused on his own newfound obsession, the nine brand new jockstraps that populated his drawers. Caiden was glancing at his brother, a little disappointed Kody was actively avoiding his gaze.

The tokens all stood up in unison, the wolf token had its tail down, not like it’s usual self. The doe seemed oddly cheerful, looking around the board with wide eyes. The dog and bull seemed satisfied though. With a frown Caiden started the turn.

He grabbed from the normal card deck, the art on the back seemingly more defined. The two were looking at each other, the eyes hard but round. After a long second he flipped it over, “Love Bug; You love bites. Kinky.”

Caiden glanced over to Kody, the wolf ears flat on his head. The dog token rushed forward, the five spaces taking a bit too long for Caiden. With a loud sigh he picked another card, the dog rushing six more spaces.

“PDA; Don’t worry, it won’t be awkward when showing affection. For you at least. Draw another card.” Kody’s ears perked up as he turned to face Caiden for the first time. His eyes were wide, a nervous flick of his ear making him look cuter rather than nervous.

Caiden bit his cheek to prevent him from saying anything. He quickly grabbed again, trying to ignore what his card will eventually make him do. The dog ran forward another six places, much to Caidens displeasure.

He flipped over the card, hoping it didn’t **** him to draw again. “Raw Dogging; Condom? Never heard of her. Draw again.” Caiden groaned and put his head down. Greg placed a hand on his son’s shoulder, trying to show support for the inevitable curse card he would get.

“Caiden.” Caiden sat up straighter at the small voice from his brother. “You can just draw from the red deck for a higher movement chance.” Caiden nodded a little, his eyes stuck on Kody. He was still nervous but Kody was right. If he had to draw a curse at least let it be to end the game quicker.

He grabbed the token card, trying to peel his eyes away from his brother. He couldn’t though, he was stuck staring at Kody. “Thank you.” It was only then did his eyes move to the card, the dog running ahead fifteen spaces.

Caiden nervously flipped the red card over, hoping it wasn’t bad. “Cursed- Soulmates; You and your current crush are now soulmates. If one of you rejects the other then… let’s say it wouldn’t be pretty.” Caiden paled, his heart speeding up. “What!”

Caiden stood, the table moving slightly. Kody stayed seated, his own heart pounding. He really hoped Caiden had a crush, one that wasn’t him. Greg stood up and pulled Caiden into a hug. “Hey, if your soulmates now it shouldn’t be hard to make them like you.”

“Dad it just said we can reject each other, I don’t think that means our feelings have changed!” Caiden let out a growl which caught Kody’s attention. Though not proper it made enough sense to Kody. Enough to know Caiden wasn’t mad per say, just frustrated with something.

Kody sighed and grabbed his own card to hopefully get through the shit show of a round that had just started.
