There is a difficulty spike

As soon as the bets started flying, you could feel the air of the table change. The other players suddenly seemed more focused and were watching each other more closely. You grew a lot more wary as their body language made them feel more like sharks than people. You figured out what was happening when two of your plant spies reported that something off was happening with their cards.

“So anything happening with your family?” Collins asks your dad after he puts in his bet of 10% ownership of a small restaurant. “Rumor has it that you got in a shouting match with the police captain over at the three-four precinct.”

“Well, remember how my youngest’s fiance Starfire was stolen a few months back?” Your dad says as he moves his cards around. When the others nodded, he continued. “James here found her at the Rein Corp facility. It turns out the police left her at a kennel after she escaped a bootlegger mod lab.”

“They didn’t report that they found her?” Don asked, concerned.

“No, the bootleggers corrupted her chip so they couldn’t trace her,” he explains.

“And according to Starfire, both the kennel and the police didn’t scan her barcode,” you continue, drawing their attention. “Someone should look into those officers and the kennel since that seems a bit neglectful.”

“I’ll make a call later,” your dad says as he taps on the tablet by his side.

“Well, why were you at the station shouting again?” Collins raised an eyebrow, bringing the original question back to conversation. You noticed an odd movement with his cards, you reached out to the plant near him. You frown as the plant reports that Collins has different cards than before. You didn’t know if it's because the plant forgot or Collins somehow swapped his cards. You hold this in for now.

“The police were looking for any characters with bootleg mods and the bootleggers had installed a few on Star,” your dad scowled. “The police brought her along with my youngest’s pregnant Aelita and a few others, into the station.”

“Were they alright?” Hoofer asks with a surprising amount of concern before throwing in his bet.

“Yeah they were treated alright and they arrived here after making a statement,” your dad says happily though you noticed a twitch in his mustache. Around the same time as the twitch, a plant reported his cards were now Collins’ old hand. “Daisy got together with them to start wedding preparations since–”

“Tell your son, congratulations on the wedding,” Don says drunkenly, lifting his drink. The others gave their congratulations with people clinking their drinks together.

“I’ll pass it along,” your dad chuckles as he glances at you. “Anyways, my youngest decided to marry both his Aelita and Starfire at the same time so a lot of things are changing. I’ll let you know when’s the wedding.” You give a slight nod at this statement, giving him permission to invite some of his friends to your wedding.

It is at this point the flop cards were revealed, showing another Eight of Hearts and a Seven of Diamond and a Ten of Spade. You were happy to have your Two Pairs however when you glanced at your cards, you found that you now had different cards in your hand. You had a 10 of Diamond and a Two of Clubs. You did your best to hide your surprise as you tried to figure out how someone swapped your cards. Looking around you notice…
