Anything happen in class
Singing
While waiting for class to start I ask Becky “so do these people have names or are they just called Kitties “ “well their names reflect their costumes “Becky says “but the current members have different names than the original “ Susan turns and whispers back “why different names if they are replacing the original members “ I ask looking at Becky and Susan. Even though I already know the answer. “They are still honoring the original members “ Becky starts to say “as they started the band so they are not replacing them but just continue what they started “ Susan chimes in. Becky nodding her head “exactly and they even have different color costumes from the original “ she says. “Ok class let’s settle down for today’s lesson “ mr black says as he enters the classroom.
“I know everyone is still eager about dare Monday but we do have to learn as well “ mr Smith says. “Not to mention the Kitties concert this weekend “ one of the male students says out loud. “Well I am not interested in whatever a kitten concert is or what your taste in music is “ mr Smith says “maybe talk to one of the music teachers about that subject because right now you are in English class “ mr Smith continues to say. “While on that subject though “ mr Smith begins to say “the songs that are sung are written down before they are sung. “He continues saying “whether they are rap or rock or gospel “ he says. “Even our national anthem and pledge of allegiance was written before any music was added and sung”mr Smith continues to say. “Even the songs that everyone here listens to was written before the person singing the song actually sang it for the first time “ mr smith says “so for those who think that they can sing a song without going to English class is mistaken “ “so as a experiment let’s start reading certain pages out loud one at a time but sing the words instead “ mr smith says.
So mr smith has us open our books to a certain page. So today we are actually learning a few different lessons at the same time. Starting at the far side of the room in front he has them start reading/singing. Usually it’s just a paragraph or two. Some students are not that bad singers. Others could use some work. A couple students he actually had to stop early because they were so bad. Actually the student that made the kitties comment was one of the worse. Mr smith actually makes comments to not just how they are reading but also how they sing as well. Correcting a couple on how they are saying the words.
Then came my time to read sing. Looking at the section that I am to do in the book. I start singing the paragraph making sure I am following along so I don’t lose my place. Complete silence in the room while I am doing it. Mr smith doesn’t stop me until I have actually done a page. “Very good ms Sorenson “ he says and actually everyone in the class is clapping and cheering. Now it’s not the first time I sang in school but those times were usually at fair’s and other school events. Not actually in class. “You could actually make a career in singing if whatever degree you do in college doesn’t work out “ mr smith says. “Thank you sir” I say. “No thank you ms Sorenson “ mr smith says. He then tells the class what our homework will be Putting the book back into my backpack and closing it up. “You were very good Cindy” Susan turns and whisper to me “yeah you should do that more often “ Becky says whispering to me. Well I do actually but I separate school and other activity.
Once the bell rings and I get up heading out of the classroom to go to art class.
