We Talk

For the first time I'm actually looking forward to going into work at the coin laundry. Marilyn and Patty are there. Marilyn asks Patty to watch the store while we go out back to talk." Jennifer, do you know why I don't fire you for being rude to certain customers?"" Actually Marilyn I have wondered about that."

"It's because despite your occasional wacky antics you actually do a good job. I've also received customer compliments about you so I know you're not rude to all of them. Second you keep the store spotless and you always tag in all the next days dry cleaning orders not leaving work behind for the morning shift."

Since my day off she changed her hairstyle, now it's shoulder length wavy. It looks good. She continues." Remember the other day I was watching my soap opera and that customer came in to do laundry." I smile at her thinking I'm about to get yelled at." I know you probably think that pissed me off." She adds." But it didn't,I want you doing things like that. Changing the channel so the little girl could watch cartoons kept her entertained so her mother could have an easier time doing her laundry are things I want you to do." Well that was surprising, I thought she was gonna be pissed about me changing the channel.

What she says next really throws me for a loop." I just can't have you being rude to certain customers. Do you think there haven't been times I've wanted to tell certain customers to go fuck themselves? I understand that some people are assholes." I finally speak up." You know Marilyn there are some customers I actually like, and I'm not nice to them because I want an award for it, I do it because I like them."

"I know Jennifer,but you have to learn to bite your tongue, as I've said there have been customers I've wanted to tell to go fuck themselves as well, customers who have said vile things to me. There have been customers I've wanted to kick in the nuts but I've always kept myself in check." She then says." As far as your dancing goes if you want I can rearrange your schedule to part time so you can spend more time doing that. You seem to enjoy it and I know you make more money doing that."

Wow, I really thought she was going to rant and rave at me. I didn't expect her to be so cool about things." Thank you Marilyn and I'll be nicer to asshole customers from now on, it'll be hard but I'll do it. As far as dancing goes I'll talk to Dennis and see what kind of schedule he wants me on."

"Thanks Jennifer. I'm glad we had this talk." She then says." And Jennifer, nice package." She looks at my crotch and smiles. I giggle." Thanks Marilyn and I'll try harder to do better." "That's all I ask Jennifer." With that she goes home for the day. I thought she was going to be a complete asshole, I was wrong.
