What's next?
Katie got coffee.
As Katie left her desk, she saw a welcoming face approaching her. "Hey there, stranger; how's the first day going?" Tom said with a warm smile.
"Well, I'm sure Henry hates me already, and you set me up for failure. He has given me a workload that even a trained robot won't get through in a week. And here I thought best friends were supposed to have each others back." Katie gave tom a scowl.
"Oh, come on, it can't be that bad; he's demanding, but it's nothing the Katie I know can't handle. Also, I came to ask if you're free this Friday night?" Tom held his smile while he asked.
"Yeah, I should be if I get through this week alive or I don't end up in a mental asylum," she replied.
"Nora wanted to catch up and thought you would like to join us. We are just going out for a couple of drinks at the Trawler if you're up for it," he explained.
Katie smiled, "Yes, please. I haven't seen her in ages. It was nice when we all used to hang out in college and go to the Trawler almost every weekend."
"Good, I will see you Friday then and let you return to your work. Just try not to get fired on your first week, please," Tom left with a grin on his face.
