Pleasant future

I'm standing in the sunroom of my family home. The warm sun feels just as nice as it did when I was a boy. The sound of laughter draws my attention outside and, as I step out the door, I'm greeted with the sight of children playing. I count three girls and two boys running about. One looks up and waves at me while shouting "Hi Daddy!" I wave back to him and he starts playing with the others again.

"I was wondering when you'd come out, Dear." I turn to the voice and see them, my girls. Hanna and Amber are sitting in chairs under the shade, in Amber's arms is a baby and Hanna's belly is stretched with her expectant motherhood. A smile breaks across my face as I look them over. 'Oh, how wonderful they are...' I go to them and kiss each one lovingly.

"How are my girls?" I softly run my hand over Hanna's stomach, feeling a kick as I do so. They both smile sweetly in answer, and I nearly melt at the sight.

"We're ready for you to wake up, Jack." Amber states as the babe she's holding coos softly.

"W-what?" I stutter.

"Wake up, Jack." Hanna replies. "It's time to wake up."

My eyes open to Amber and Hanna leaning over me, their hands on my shoulder, smiles on their faces.

"Oh, hey girls. How long was I out?"

"A few hours, we let you sleep a little longer as a reward for earlier." Amber says. "Our way of saying thank you."

"I should be the one thanking you girls, that was amazing."

Hanna chuckles before saying, "You can thank us by telling us what you were dreaming about. By the way you were mumbling 'My girls' we could guess it was about us. Care to spill the details?"

I pause a second, then smirk. "Nah, I think I'll keep that as a wonderful memory. I will tell you that it was, partially, about the future." This gets an eyebrow raise from both the girls, but then they sit on either side of me and both of them kiss me on the closest cheek.

"Well," Hanna states, "By the smile on your face, I think it's safe to say it's a future we will all want then."
