Your phone rings.

You wake up with a start. You look like you are in the guest room. You look for your phone and pick it up. It’s work, so you answer.

“What’s up John?”

“Hey boss…you taking a day off?”

You pull the phone from your face and look at the time: 11:47. Looks like you slept in.

“Yeah, I needed a day after yesterday’s call outs. The schedule is made for the next two weeks with the rescheduled jobs already in there as well. Do you need anything else?”

“Uh, boss, we got a bad review on Google. From the job you were supposed to handle yesterday. They said you didn’t finish and you milked them the entire time you were there. What happened? I thought we wanted to get into the dickgirl demographic?”

“They weren’t even ready to move, nothing was boxed up. Their computer equipment wasn’t even disconnected. It just didn’t work out.”

“I thought we handle all that to satisfy the customer? Do what you gotta do to please them, right? Seems a little silly to give up over something like that. I also think that would send a bad signal to the other movers that the boss didn’t follow his own rules. Maybe you should stop by and see if there’s any way to fix the relationship with the client? Take one for the team, you always tell us, and it always worked out so far, hasn’t it?”

“Yeah, John, you’re right. Let me rest a bit more then I’ll see what I can do. I still have the truck. I’ll see you next week.”

“Good call boss. That’s why I’m still here after all these years. You’ll do whatever it takes to fix this, I know you will. Have a great weekend.”

The call ends. You lay back. You put your hands on your belly…but it’s flat again!
