Monokuma answers his questions!

"Of course it's okay!" Monokuma shouted popping up right next to him.

"I mean, to anyone else, it's not like you did anything out of the ordinary. Aaanyways, I need to tell you some stuff to make it more clear what these things can or can't do!"

Shuichi stood up, looking down at the bear.

"We did tinker with the earrings a bit, so any change that you make with the main or side effect of allowing you to leave the academy, or informing anyone else of it's powers won't work. Any attempt to try to explain or confess about the earring's nature will simply get shrugged off as nonsense."

He continued to listen, trying to keep everything in mind. Too bad he didn't have something to write this on.

"You should know that it's still possible for people to go beyond the social norm and do unnatural things. And of course, the earrings don't work on me so I can observe all of your changes."

"I... That's a given." He replied.

"Anyways, are you having fun?" Monokuma asked giving him a nudge with his elbow.

"I'm not trying to use these to have fun. I'm just investigat-"

"Oh, come on! What a lame excuse! I know exactly what you did! If you were truly just testing, you could've made Tenko simply like men or something more innocent. But no, instead you groped her and had her suck your dick! There were plenty of other ways you could've gone about doing things! You should just accept that you're using them for your own benefit, and there's nothing wrong with that!"

Maybe... Maybe he was right. Maybe there was no downside. No one would be mad at me. No one would be uncomfortable or suffer as a result of my actions, as everyone would see things as they always were. And I could do whatever I wanted with whoever I wanted.

"You know what? Maybe you're just stressed about having this power when you don't really know what my plans were, so I'll cancel everything!"

"Eh?"

"Originally, I planned to get all of you brats riled up and mad! Maybe get everyone to kill each other! Upupu~" He paused. "But, just to make sure you feel comfortable using the earrings as you see fit, I'll hold off on it. You won't have to worry about me causing trouble as long as this deal stands. You couldn't possibly get a better deal!"

Regardless of whether or not he planned to use the earrings like that, that was definitely something he liked to hear.

"Um, I have a question." I said. "It's about the earrings."

"Ask away!"

"To what extent can the earrings alter things? Like, can they alter reality?"

"That depends on what you want to change or how you phrase it. You have to make sure a person is involved. If you want to get into Kaede's room, which is locked, and you say something along the lines of "It's normal for this door to never be locked", then nothing will happen. But if you say "It's normal for Kaede to never lock this door", then reality will change so the door will become unlocked as it wouldn't have been locked in the first place."

"I see..." I said. "So if I say that it's normal for my room to be twice the size, it won't happen."

"Indeed! Normalities only work when there is a person involved, and most of the time they are retroactive. And because I've made it so the earrings can't affect me or my cubs, and none of the students assisted with the building of the academy itself, there is no way to alter the layout of this academy."

Monokuma continued: "Think of it this way: When you use the earrings, the past gets rewritten so that your normality had always happened, but minus the Normality, the present is more or less the same. Let's use your bottomless Kaede normality from yesterday as an example. The past got rewritten so she never wears any lower body clothes, including shoes. Let's say that had she never worn shoes in the past eighteen years, she would've stepped on a rusty screw and gotten tetanus or something like that, which could've killed her. But that's not how the earrings work. The earrings always alter the past to the point where everything will be the exact same in the present, minus the Normality and any other things directly related to it. That's why Kaede's lower body clothes never existed, but her situation is more or less the same."

Shuichi seemed deep in thought, analyzing everything.

"Also, here's another thing you can do with these earrings! You're going to love this, you can alter reality if it has to do with changing another person's body."

"Huh?"

"Well, you can make Himiko's chest bigger! Just say something like "it's normal for Himiko's tits to be big" or "It's normal for Himiko to actually have tits in the first place" or something like that! Because you're messing with people here, you can do basically anything to affect them. Do you like dickgirls? You can do that! Want to make it so someone's hands are replaced with feet? Weird, but it's possible. Don't worry, though, nothing you can do will directly kill anyone."

I'd have to test that tomorrow.

"Any further questions? Knowledge is power! Well, more than the one you already have!"

"That's all I have to ask for now, I' want to try figuring things out on my own."

"Alrighty then! If you think of something overnight, just let me know by hollerin' my name!"

With that, he vanished as Shuichi returned to my room to rest.
