Maybe, maybe not

Afterwards, Lena couldn't have said exactly how she got home. Frightened, she switched off the engine and only now did she realize that she could have run over someone on the way without noticing it. She was so deep in thought while driving she didn't even remember driving home. The thought of what could have happened made Lena shudder as she unlocked the door to her apartment. As soon as she closed the door behind her, she put down her small backpack and took off her shoes.

Instinctively, she looked at her phone. Still no message from Sandra, and to add insult to injury, no message from Thomas either. Of course he was on vacation with his family, but otherwise he had always texted around this time, as it was their little ritual that they had always stuck to.

Frustrated, Lena fell onto her sofa and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand as it just wasn't her day today. "Actually, I should just go to sleep and forget about the day," she thought to herself, before realizing to her surprise that she had picked up her laptop and started it up.

Once again her subconscious had taken control and overpowered her conscious mind. Lena shrugged her shoulders slightly when she realized that her laptop was turned on. "Well, since it's already turned on, I can see if I can find out more about that house and its owners" she thought to herself.

For an hour, Lena searched and clicked through government websites, newspaper articles and everything that could be found on the Internet for information. Mysteriously, the picture that slowly built up was more than tenuous. Whoever owned that property sure covered their tracks very well.

Annoyed, Lena closed her laptop. Looking at her cell phone, there was a message from Thomas which didn't improve her mood, "Sorry honey, it's been a long day, I'm too tired, go to bed early today, talk tomorrow, * kisses * Thomas"

Later that night as she laid in bed she decided that tomorrow she was going to push the issue with Sandra to find out why she has become so distant. More importantly, she wanted to know why Lena has a key to what now appears to be a sinister house.
