Speech!

Moments after Lauren sat the ceremony began. The dean went to the microphone and began speaking. Lauren, despite putting years of her life into college, could hardly pay attention. She was distracted by her dread. She desperately wanted to leave before anything happened, before anyone found out what she was wearing under her graduation robe! Maybe now that the ceremony had started she could slip away unnoticed...

"And now, a speech from Lauren Adkins of our graduating class!"

Lauren's eyes widened as the crowd clapped. Oh crap, she'd forgotten! She was giving a speech! Normally it was the valedictorian's job but Lauren had talked that nerd into letting her speak. After all, if someone was going to have all eyes on her, it should be Lauren! That was her thinking at the time at least.

"Go on Lauren!" The guy next to her said again, giving her a nudge. Lauren reluctantly rose to her feet and began walking towards the podium, the eyes of hundreds on her...
