She oversleeps

6:45 am rolls around and Doe's alarm begins to go off. She reaches over and pushes buttons on her phone to make it turn off without even really waking up. She then rolls over to face John and buries her face in his neck.

Half an hour later, John's alarm goes off. He wonders why Doe is still in bed, although he's quite enjoying her warm body cuddled up against him. He opens his eyes to check the time, assuming it's only 7:00 since he had set two alarms before going to bed. He is alarmed when he sees that it's 15 minutes later, and hastily awakens Doe.

"Hey" he says softly. "Doe you've got to get up. It's 7:15. You overslept."

"What?!" She says alarmed. "I never heard my alarm. Oh shit, I'm going to be late." She jumps out of bed and heads into the bathroom.

John rolls over and gets out to bed to investigate his alarm. He looks down and realizes there is a very noticeable tent in his shorts. He thinks about the beautiful girl showering in the room next to him and the tent grows bigger. When he finally looks at the clock, he realizes he forgot to turn on the one he set for 7:00."

John goes downstairs to make some breakfast. He begins to cook some bacon and make some toast. Around 7:40 Doe walks into the kitchen wearing her scrubs. John can't help but admire her beauty.

"I made breakfast." He says to her childishly.

"Thank you." Doe grabs some bacon and toast and quickly eats it without saying another word.

Around 7:50 she finally breaks the silence. Worriedly, Doe exclaims "Oh crap, I forgot my car has the spare on it. Shit, I'll never make it in time if I have to drive slowly."

Soothingly, John responds "my keys are in the small box on top of my chest of drawers. Take my car. If you want, leave your keys and I'll take your car to get your tire fixed."

"This boy is amazing" Doe thinks to herself as she rushes upstairs to grab his car keys. She's running to late to even question him. She grabs her pocket book, and takes her keys. She stops briefly to grab a piece of paper and write down her phone number. She then rushes down the stairs. John is waiting for her at the door.

She hands him the keys and piece of paper, saying "here's my number. Call or text me later so I'll have yours." She then gives him a hug. "Thank you for everything" and gives him a kiss on the cheek before running on the door.

John waits a few minutes, then sends her a text that says "good luck with your orientation today. I'm sure it will go great. See you tonight."

Doe checks her phone just before running into the hospital. She smiles at the message before tossing her phone into her purse.
