You go away from the door just in case somebody comes by. Then you call the number on the paper. It takes only three seconds until a voice appears.

"This is police officer Mike Rendell," the voice of the policeman says, "Ashley Pike, is this you?"

"It is me," you say, "better only use my first name. If anybody hears us, we can tell we are talking to a friend. And I assume you are my contact?"

"Yes, that's me," Mike says a little nervous, "and you are right. First names. I'm sorry, I'm new to this. To be honest, I graduated from police Academy only recently. I ... never protected a spy before."

You are shocked. This babbling newbie is responsible to keep an eye on you. In such an important and dangerous investigation like this, the FBI relies on a Rookie cop to protect an important informant in the middle of lions den. This has to be a joke. Good, on the other hand the Agents are around too. Maybe they looked for somebody they could trust and a new patrolofficer doesn't drew that mutch attention. Still, you expected more to keep you safe.
