Make her oblivious to your actions

A sudden idea entered your mind, which you proceeded to realise with a quick snap of your fingers.

A moment has passed, then a few a more, but Julia showed no reaction. As seemingly nothing have changed, you decided to play it safe, just in case.

"...Good morning mom."

You said, trying to sound inconspicuous. And your mother reacted by turning her head to smile at you.

The woman said, before turning back to the kitchen counter. It seemed like your magic wasn't really working after all. Or a few more tests were in order. Gather the courage, you approached Julia closer, your gaze stuck to her rather large ass, noticeable even in the nurse gown she was wearing.

If things go south, you'll just say that you tried to swat a bug off her backside.

Her only reaction?

"Honey, can you check if the window is shut? It got really chilly all of a sudden."
