Chapter 23 by Gray Gremlin Gray Gremlin

What else is going on at Camp Wee Wicket?

The Two Daughters

Bracing for the worst, Sean turned around to find a cute, athletic brunette wearing a red YSC top and a pair of jean shorts. Surprisingly, she didn't appear ready to add to Sean's misery. Not with her friendly smile and outstretched hand. Sean automatically reverted to his natural inclination for politeness by reaching for her hand.

"Hi! You're Sean Tarver, right?" Sean nodded. "I'm Lolly Matcham. Pleased to meet you."

"Oh, hello," Sean greeted back in surprise.

Realizing the girl wasn't about to jump down his throat in a flurry of insults, Sean quickly gave her another once over. Lolly had long, dark brown hair, mesmerizing bluish-green eyes, medium-sized breasts, and he assumed a toned ass based on the tight pair of shorts she wore. Overall, Sean liked what he saw a lot.

"Uh, you're parents own this camp, right?" Sean continued as Lolly broke off their handshake after her hand lingered longer than necessary.

"They sure do. My dad's side has owned property in Wicket Valley dating back almost a hundred and forty years," Lolly revealed with a shrug. Then, she jumped over to the topic she wanted to discuss. "Your sister has to be one of the nicest people here! I wish I had a sister as cool as her. Or any sibling, to be honest. I've spent a lot of time helping Peyton and Taylor get settled in and comfortable around the nurse's office."

"Uh, yeah, I'm lucky to have an easy to get along with sister in Peyton," Sean agreed. "So, do you often work at Camp Wee Wicket?"

"Like every summer! Although my grandpa technically still owns it, my mom took over running the summer camp from him," Lolly explained. "But, I've heard all about you."

"Y-You have?" Sean stammered, worried that it wasn't good.

"Oh, yeah! Peyton's gone on and on telling me all about her kind, friendly, cute, and mystery-solving little brother. It's only been a few days, but it feels like I've been waiting forever to meet you."

Iona's chuckle drew Lolly's attention toward her.

"You must be Iona O'Hara, right? And you're Daisy Kirby?"

The two girls nodded, with Daisy offering her hand to shake and Iona bumping fists with Lolly.

"Fawn really sings your praises," the camp owners' daughter told the school journalist. "And your brother goes on and on about you almost as much as Peyton does about Sean."

"Eoin does love to bitch about me," Iona stated.

"Oh, well, yeah, he does do that. But I meant how he brags about your extraordinary soccer skills. It sounds like you're going to be a star in college and maybe further," Lolly elaborated.

"Seriously?" Iona challenged in disbelief.

"Totally! I can tell he's proud of you."

"Aww, big brodda is proud of lil' sis!" Sean teased, taking the opportunity for payback.

"Shut it, Tarver," Iona ordered, punching him in the shoulder.

While Sean winced in pain, Lolly began giggling.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't laugh. It's just that you two remind me of Peyton and Eoin in reverse," Lolly revealed.

That caused the two younger siblings to look a bit horrified.

"Honestly, I'm not all that into mysteries. But this YSC thing seems fun in a crazy way," Lolly remarked. Then, she surprised everyone by jumping to her side to grab a passing girl. Pulling her over to the three Bees, she shushed the girl. "Hey, I want you guys to meet Misty."

"I think my parents already announced me to the world," Misty grumbled.

"That bad?" Lolly inquired.

"Ugh! I hate when my parents want to show me off. It was cool when I was four."

"So, I want you to meet Sean Tarver, Iona O'Hara, and Daisy Kirby. They're the ones that Peyton, Eoin, and Fawn told us about," Lolly said.

"Oh, shit! I'm sorry for being rude. It's just that my parents and their damn obsession with solving crimes is long past old to me," Misty explained. "It's nice to meet you."

"So you're not into mysteries?" Iona queried.

"Imagine going through your whole life with parents so obsessed with them that they name you Mystery. It's even worse as they just expect you to follow in their footsteps."

"I can understand. My parents are both doctors, and my dad's side is filled with them dating back a couple of centuries. Peyton wants to be one, but I have zero interest," Sean interrupted to commiserate. "My dad refuses to accept my decision."

"So you get it! Is your dad pissed that you don't want to be a doctor?" Sean nodded at Misty's question. "Well, when I turned twelve and didn't show interest in starting my own teen detective group, my parents started inviting kids over for playdates."

"At twelve? That's for like five-year-olds," Iona commented in disbelief.

"I know! And it took me only a few minutes to realize my parents were auditioning prospective team members for me. My best friend found it hilarious. I didn't," Misty stated, earning a sympathetic pat on her arm from Lolly. "Mom finally eased up with the group-forming pressure when I hit sixteen. However, she started to play matchmaker for boyfriends."

"Mystery! Come over here. I have someone I'd like you to meet," Rex called over.

"Hold on!" Misty replied, not turning around but using her hand to brush off her father.

"Ah, a matchmaker sounds like someone we know," Sean chuckled after the strawberry blonde motioned for them to continue talking.

"Wait, Sean. I suspect there is more to it," Daisy speculated.

"Oh, you know it--Daisy, right?--Yeah, Daisy is correct. The guys were all in awe of my parents and loved the idea of a boyfriend and girlfriend who crept around haunted mansions and cemeteries looking for the fake ghost. I wasn't! I wanted him to win me a prize at a carnival or make out in a backseat at a drive-in theater."

"You have one of those?!" Iona questioned excitedly. "The closest to us is like ninety minutes away in Grassy Valley."

"I don't think that's the point," Daisy remarked.

"Not exactly, but it would be cool to hit a theater up without everyone waiting for a masked villain to shut the movie down. Or go to a carnival and not expect a sinister clown will kidnap you. Cherry Cove can so annoying at times," Misty moaned before catching herself. "Damn, I'm sorry about complaining. It's just that Lolly has been a great ear for it. You guys probably admire my parents and want to visit Cherry Cove, if you haven't already."

"I don't. I never heard of your parents or your hometown until Sean asked me to be on his team. Same goes for Whitney and Rory on our team. Who knows with Daisy here? Only Sean and Wesley seem into this YSC shit," Iona relayed.

"Oh, we're definitely hanging out more," Misty said, fist-bumping Iona.

"Mystery! We're waiting!" Rex stated, his voice showing his annoyance.

That caused Misty to whip around to find her father at the other end of the dining hall.

"I said to hold on! I'm in the middle of a conversation. Talk about rude, Dad!"

Turning back to face the foursome, the increasingly angered nineteen-year-old shook her head before forcing a smile.

"It will be nice to have people not consumed by clues or becoming famous to talk to. Some of these staffers won't stop asking to hear about my parents' cases or the past YSCs that I grew up around. Especially the one from fifteen years ago that no one is allowed to mention. As if I remember much, I was four-fucking-years-old!"

"Have you heard about that one, Seanie?" Iona teased, hoping to get Misty riled up toward him.

"Not much. Just that it's never mentioned in any of the YSC material."

"And Dad is just harping about this Bishop kid," Misty continued ranting. "I mean, for all I know, he might be a nice guy, but would you shut up about him. Let me meet people on my own!"

"Uh, we just met him. He seemed alright. Not like Plato," Sean mentioned.

"Pluto was a dick," Iona declared.

"Don't get me started on him! I went to high school with that egotistical egghead," Misty revealed. "The little shit propositioned me like four years ago."

"He did the same to Whitney. She and Rory sent him scurrying away with his tail between his legs," Iona recounted.

"Really? I need them to tell me how to do that. But Plato isn't even the worst," Misty hinted.

"Somebody on his team is even worse?"

"What? No, his team is a mixed bag. Chardonnay and Venus have their decent moments," the strawberry blonde stated. "I'm talking about Rhett. He's hovering around as if he still has a chance at me. I told him years ago when my parents tried to set him up as my mystery-solving boyfriend, that it wasn't happening. And I repeated it when my parents offered to change the YSC age rules so I could be on his team last time. There is just something not right with that self-absorbed jerk."

"Honey, can you please go by your father? He's turned red."

The group never even noticed Tish Hardaway slide over next to her daughter. She seemed to be sneaky and graceful on her feet. The older version of Misty smiled warmly at the other teens.

"Gawd, can't I talk to people I want to for once?" Misty grumbled.

"You'll have plenty of time after your father gets his fill," Tish responded. Then, she looked over at three competitors. "I'm sorry, kids, but my husband has several of your fellow competitors he thinks Mystery must meet right now."

"My name is Misty," the younger strawberry blonde hissed. "Fine, I'll do this just to shut Dad up. However, you better guarantee me my free time for the rest of the night. I barely got to talk to Sean and his friends."

"Sean? Ah, yes, your Brandy's nephew," Tish remarked neutrally.

"Wait, you're Brandy Fallon's nephew? Holy shit, we are so talking more," Misty promised as her mother nudged her away from the group.

After about thirty seconds, Iona spoke.

"Damn, that girl has a chip on her shoulder."

"I get it. My dad won't take no for an answer about my selecting a major that's proper for medical school applications. That's even with my mom telling him I'm not going to be a doctor," Sean defended Misty, feeling a bit of kinship with the slightly older girl already.

"Yeah, Misty's parents pressure her like crazy. But she's awesome. We met last summer when her parents came out here to scout the locations. We hit it off right away," Lolly recounted. "She and a few friends even came to visit me at college."

"Where do you go?" Daisy inquired.

"Frontier A&M University. It's in Thirsty Gulch. Misty goes to Vapor Valley University in Sweet Creek," Lolly listed.

"Hey! We know some people from Honey Hollow that go to Frontier," Sean realized excitedly.

"And I already talked to your sister and her friends about them," the brunette revealed, bursting Sean's bubble a bit.

"Hmm, Maddie Stringham attends Vapor Valley. She's my former editor on The Buzzy Bee," Daisy explained.

"The Buzzy Bee?! That's a goofy name. I thought Finn made it up as a joke for us," Lolly admitted.

"No, it's real."

"Hey, RJ Ridge goes to the same school too!" Sean exclaimed again.

"So does Jordan Yegge. People do go away to colleges, Dr. Tarver," Iona remarked sarcastically.

"RJ's uncle's best friend, Kirk Langley, is a professor at Vapor Valley. He's a former reporter at my paper and a genuinely nice guy," Daisy added.

"Yo, Lolly, who's tall, dark, and ruggedly handsome over there?" Iona inquired, motioning with her head.

"Who; him? Didn't you guys pay attention during the introductions?"

"Somewhat. Whitney wouldn't stop asking questions," Sean muttered.

"Yeah, I heard his name and saw him when we arrived. But what's his deal?" Iona questioned.

"That's Winchester Kern."

"Like the gun?"

"Yeah, people out here sometime have unusual names. He goes by either Win or Winch," Lolly.

"I'd totally let him win me," Iona declared, fanning her face. "Did you ever..."

"Me and Win? Oh, no! He's done work around the camp as he's handy with his hands, but my mom would kill me if I hooked up with him. He's like twenty-six and has a reputation."

"A rep? I bet it's higher than his neck. He looks the type," Iona remarked.

Sean glanced over uncomfortably as his teammate practically eye-fucked the older staffer.

"It's not a bad reputation. It's more like he goes through a lot of women. Which isn't necessarily odd out here as attractive, available women aren't plentiful," Lolly quickly clarified. "I heard the town and ranger station are all in a tizzy about the attractive staff already. Win's a popular guy out here. He moves around for work but gets a steady amount from the various ranches, including the Rusty Buckle Lodge in the valley."

"Hmm, me likey," Iona purred.

"Uh, oh!" Lolly dashed forward to grab another young woman by the arm. This one she dragged over appeared several years older than Misty. "Sean, Iona, and Daisy this is Abilene Kerr. You can call her Abbie, and she's Win's sister."

"Uh, hello," Abbie greeted, still out of sorts after getting ambushed by Lolly.

Iona and Daisy introduced themselves at one. Sean hesitated as he checked out the outdoors-looking beauty. Abbie had shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes, large breasts, and a firm ass. She also had this sultry vibe going on in Sean's mind.

"And this starstruck guy is Sean Tarver, Peyton's little brother," Lolly introduced, giggling at Sean's behavior.

"Ah, yes, I've heard all about you, Sean," Abbie revealed with a smirk. That sent a shiver down Sean's spine. "I hate to meet and run, but Rex wants the campfires started. I need to see if Win wants to do it or if I have to."

"Abbie's cool," Lolly stated after the woman left. "She spent a couple of summers working at Wee Wicket when she was in college. Honestly, I'm surprised she moved back here after graduation. I thought--oh, crap!"

"What's wrong?"

"We better get a move on it. The Hardaways kinda let me do my own thing, but not for long. And I promised Peyton I'd give her brother a tour of the main camp buildings," Lolly revealed. "So, let's get moving."

"I'll meet back up later. I want to find Fawn," Daisy said.

Sean and Iona nodded at each other before following Lolly. They exited the double doors on the south end of the dining hall. They descended the short staircase and followed Lolly into the middle of the one-lane road that encircled the dining hall.

"Okay, that building on the corner is the camp office. It's what you'd imagine a summer camp office might look like. It can feel awfully cramped in the summers when you have whiny kids crying about missing home. The only phone on the grounds is located in there. So if you need to use it, find me. My parents usually live on the second floor whenever they are both here during camp sessions. Misty and I are staying up there for this event," Lolly narrated. "Just around the corner is the guest cottage. The Hardaways are set up in there."

After pointing toward the east, Lolly turned to face west. However, not before jerking her thumb over to a small building.

"That's one of the storage sheds. You'll find another just north of the rec center, which is where we're headed to."

It turned out to be only about a forty-five-second walk to the recreation center's short stairs. Lolly wasted no time hopping up them. Iona elbowed Sean to stop checking out the brunette's ass in those tight jean shorts before she turned around at the top of the stairs to notice. Fortunately, Lolly chose to open both double doors, so she could march inside the rec center.

The large fireplace against the west wall appeared first to Sean when he walked through the doors. Situated in a semi-circle in front of it was an assortment of old yet comfortable-looking plush chairs with two couches.

"Holy fuck! It's like a little arcade in here," Iona declared.

"Yeah, these often need to be turned off during the day. If not, some of the kids would never go outside," Lolly announced, walking over to the southeast side of the rec center. "But they sure come in handy on rainy days. The whole rec center does."

Sean watched as Iona dashed over to check out the names on the arcade machines.

Along the east wall, south of the doors, stood several expected games such as Mrs. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Dig Dug, and Star Wars. Backed up against the corner was a four-player Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles machine. Then, along the south wall were two pinball machines. Also, two sit-down arcade machines sat several feet in front of the east wall games. Located back-to-back, these were Spy Hunter and Pole Position.

"Whoa! Lucky we didn't bring Newt," Sean sounded, impressed by vintage games.

"Please. Denton would complain about the old graphics and lack of multi-layer options," Iona commented.

"The door next to the pinball machines is the interior entrance to the nurse's office. There is also an entrance outside if you noticed it while we walked over," Lolly described.

Sean nodded toward the closed door. He'd noticed the woodchip walkway that led to a small porch on the southside of the building.

"And these are for the older campers," Lolly announced, heading toward the northside of the large room.

"Yes! These are more to my liking," Iona commented, rushing past Sean.

Sean finished checking out another small lounge setup along the southwest corner of the room, on the other side of the nurse's office. This one had a small loveseat against the west wall, surrounded by four standard armchairs.

Making his way toward the two girls, Sean noticed that two tabletop games were right past the main lounge area. There was an air hockey table and a foosball table. Past them, a ping pong table stood close to the northwest corner. Opposite of that, on the northeast side, was a small bar. There was a large popcorn machine standing next to the bar.

To large double-doors lay in the center of the north wall. However, Sean's eyes only noticed the two tables in the middle of the north section of the rec center near those doors.

"You've got pool tables!"

"Do you play?" Lolly inquired while Iona tested out the foosball.

"A little. Some of Peyton's friends taught me. But, I need more experience," he admitted.

"Maybe I'll give you some needed experience," Lolly declared, bending over to pick a ball out of a pocket. That caused her jeans-covered ass to somehow tighten further against those tight cheeks.

"Damn! Look at this place," a guy exclaimed as several teens from other teams entered through the east doors.

Popping up, Lolly turned to look around Sean before shifting to make eye contact with him.

'Sorry, you're on your own now. Don't spend it all playing with the balls," Lolly joked, rolling a striped ball across the green felt. "I better give them the tour too."

Sean didn't have much of a response except to thank Lolly for the tour. Then, glancing over at Iona, he saw her challenge the newcomers to see if any wanted a go at foosball. So, Sean's eyes returned briefly to Lolly until he noticed something had changed.

The nurse's door wasn't fully open, but it had been opened partway. And he could see the light shining from the opening.

Maybe it's Pey. And hopefully, she has time to talk finally.

Walking past the newcomers, Sean politely nodded to a couple of them as he closed the distance to the small add-on building that housed the nurse's office. Reaching the door, Sean didn't want to startle his sister, so he slowly slid around the partially opened door.

That's when he stopped in his tracks.

A toned ass encased in a pair of tight, tan shorts wiggled side-side at the end of the examination bed. Sean couldn't see the rest of Peyton, but he didn't need to. No other woman that he knew had an ass shaped like that. And for the second time today, Sean's focus became tunnel-like as the one sight in the tiny roomy that mattered was that ass.

Oh, gawd, what's wrong with me? Why am I suddenly noticing Peyton's ass so much? She's my sister. It's wrong; it's sick. Turn away, Sean. Turn away!

Unfortunately, Sean's body ignored his brain. It had developed a mind of its own. It wanted to stare at the wiggling ass. It wanted to touch it, squeeze it in its hands, and grind against it.

"Omigawd! What you doing?!"

Sean's head rocked back as his sister stood up, staring daggers at him. Only it wasn't his sister; it was another woman with a model-like figure, blue eyes, medium-sized breasts, and an awesomely toned ass. Moreover, this woman he'd drooled over had long, wavy dark hair.

"I asked, what are you doing, pervert?"

Who else is meeting and greeting?
