They Do

The battle was fierce, and though it was close, you lost, when the enemy pokemon used Hyper-Beam. You fall to the ground, temporarily defended and blinded from the blast, as you feel hands over your body, frisking you for valuables, like your pokeballs.

As your senses return, you look up, only to see the girls scampering away, having stolen your pokemon. You recover a moment later, and begin to run in the direction they did, as you see them just turn out of sight.

As you do, you realize that even if you did catch up with them, they had all your pokemon. You think for a moment, and consider finding the local Jenny for help. But if you did that, they’d get further away.
