Chapter 18 by The Marksman The Marksman

Two roads diverged and I-

Rage, rage against the dying of the light (the cage)

Agnetti felt no small sense of satisfaction as Dr. Carter climbed into the cage. It clicked shut behind her. She would be safe in there. For now. Now to draw out whoever had been spying on him. He'd found the ocular implant before, but left it alone. If someone thought they were watching you, but you knew about it, the advantage was yours, not theirs. He'd gotten them right where he wanted, and now he was going to get some answers.

Kat breathed a sigh of relief when the cage sealed, without so much as a seam. Even the sound from the outside was muffled. Hopefully there was an air supply. She ran the quick calculation in her head, at the rate she was breathing, she'd have nearly a day before she died, less before hypoxia kicked in. She tried to slow her racing heart, but it was impossible. Better plan on eighteen hours. She checked her pad, the only source of light, now that the overhead had switched off. Message delivered. No signal. At least the kids knew not to come here. Whatever monstrous things Agnetti was doing, the children were safe.

We have Dr. Carter. That was what Agnetti had written.

Cindi had been afraid before, her Aunt's cryptic message had really freaked her out, but then she'd switched back to check on Agnetti one last time only to catch the message he'd written for her and held up in front of the 'spy' camera he wasn't supposed to know about. And now moved the camera around to place it where she could see his terminal. On the screen, Aunt Kat was trapped in some giant glass cube. Unharmed, but clearly still in serious danger. Worse still, Agnetti knew they had been spying on him. They'd fallen into his trap.

Come to the landing pad unarmed within the hour, or else she dies.

Then the camera dropped to the floor and Cindi got one last shot of a falling boot before the feed died.

This was bad. Way worse than anything she could handle. Aunt Kat trapped in some underground cage, with who knows what or who down there with her. Agnetti might be laying another trap even now. What if he already knew who Aunt Kat was working with? It wasn't a stretch to think her daughter might be involved. Had he traced the signal? She had to find Adam and Sam.

Sam finally stripped out of her armor, they'd found a few old cots and pushed them together, it wasn't the most comfortable, but it beat the cold and dirty floor. Sam was surprised at how much she wanted to be held afterwards. Her normal sexual encounters were more transactional, she left after they finished, or kicked the other person out; but she'd been waiting most of decade to be in Adam's arms, she wanted to enjoy this, make it last. The galaxy and all its problems were lightyears away, Sam floated in a sea of contentment; beautiful, safe, wanted.

"You were my first kiss."

"Mine too." He reminded her.

"mmmmMMmm" Sam remembered. "I spent weeks figuring out how to get you to do it."

"You could have just asked." Adam replied, stroking her hair.

"It wouldn't have been the same. You'd have just given me a kiss. I wanted you to kiss me." Sam tried to stress the difference. For a preteen girl, they were worlds apart. "Tell me something I don't know."

"I saw you naked at the Citadel."

"We all saw each other naked."

"...After I saw you naked, I ...you know."

Sam's slow grin nearly split her face. She wanted him to say it. "No. Could you elaborate? In detail, please."

Adam rolled his eyes, embarrassed, despite what they had just done. "I jerked off to you. A couple of times, actually."

"I guess you liked what you saw huh?"

"I was a teenage boy, we jerked off to everything." He sputtered and blushed. "But I did think your ass was incredible." He admitted.

"Sure. Sure, Adam." Sam whistled and dropped her voice to a stage whisper. "Some-bodies a per-veeeeert."

Adam yanked her hair playfully, before giving her a soft kiss on the forehead. Sam laughed.

"Are we done embarrassing me, how about you go?"

"You were my first sex dream." She admitted.

"Wow!" Adam looked thoughtful. "Same, actually."

"Really?"

"Oh no, sorry that was your mom."

"What!" Sam's mouth fell open.

"She had those big boobs, and she always wore those tight shirts... ugh." Adam was grinning that sly grin of his. Sam hit him.

"Pervert." They both laughed.

Adam hesitated, his tone turning more serious. "Sam-

The door to the warehouse heaved open and Cindi bolted in. "Sam! Sam! I traced your pad. I need your help. Do you know where Adam is?"

She sure did. Adam was scrambling into his ruined clothes. As if that was going to in any way cover up what had just happened. Just how far did these feelings for Cindi go? Had they acted on them? They were siblings! ....says the girl with her first cousin's cum all over her, she reluctantly added.

Adam had just barely made himself presentable by the time Cindi found them. Sam hadn't followed suit, instead she stretched beside the bed, naked as a jay bird and proudly covered in marks from what their tryst. Let the little princess see what big sister had taken for herself. Lionesses didn't share.

Cindi nearly ran into them, her face a picture of pale hysteria. In fact she almost seemed to miss what was right in front of her eyes. Sam slapped Adam on the ass, she needed to get the message. Cindi goggled, her head swiveling from one to the other, mouth gaping, but instead of crying or screaming, she shook her head to clear it, then grabbed them both and started tugging them towards the door.

"Your mom is down in the tunnels below the base. Agnetti laid a trap for us. He knows we've been watching him. We have to go rescue her!" It came flooding out in a rush, so fast Sam couldn't even process it all. But she got enough. They'd fucked up. Big time. Valero was right. Sam had been playing around with all this, using it as a distraction. Agnetti wasn't playing. Whatever the Adonis project was, he was deadly serious about it.

Sam yanked her hand free and slithered back into her armor, as Cindi explained more. Her mom and Cindi had discovered a lab in the secret files, and then when Agnetti coincidentally 'visited' it, she'd gone down after. Now he wanted them to go to the landing pad. Sam didn't know what they were going to do, but they couldn't do that. Sam finished sealing up her suit while Adam asked a few more questions about the tunnels? All of a sudden his tone became sharp and direct.

"A glass cage?" Adam repeated. "Are you sure?"

"I saw it on the camera feed." Cindi confirmed. "It was like a big glass box."

"What else was down there, Cindi?" He grabbed her arm, not gently. "Tell me. Was there any webbing? Like a giant spiderweb?"

"I don't know. Owww." Cindi writhed in his grip. "Adam I just saw some footage for a few seconds. Aunt Kat told me the rest. Dark, smashed equipment. She said it smelled like you.

Adam released her. Eyes wide and frightened.

"Smelled like me how. Like... copper?" He whispered.

"I don't-

"We have to get down there right now." He cut her off and turned to Sam. Cindi pouted, actually pouted.

"I'll meet you by the elevator, I'm gonna stop by the armory first." Sam called back to them.

"You think they'll just give you weapons if you ask nicely?" Cindi fired parting shot at her.

"I'm not gonna ask nicely."

Sam rejoined them at the elevator, the shoulder pauldron on her armor smoking from a lasgun burn; her arms were loaded with weapons. She handed them out like candy at a parade. Adam got a bandolier of grenades and a plasma rifle. Sam kept a vicious looking flamethrower for herself, along with handful of short electroblades. Cindi got a laspistol. She was honestly ok with it. Adam taught her how to shoot one years ago, and it wasn't like this was the worst thing she'd done to Cindi today.

"Elevator's dead. Agnetti doesn't want us going down there." Cindi nodded toward the dead buttons and sealed doors.

"I don't care what he wants." Sam grabbed each door, fingers digging into the center seam, she heaved, the suit whirring to life around her as the doors slowly inched open.

"You mind going first, big guy?" Sam spoke directly over Cindi's head, she knew how much she'd hated that when they were kids. Cock robbing bitch.

"Why not me?" Cindi demanded.

"Well for one thing, one of use has to carry you, and since Adam doesn't have armor, you wouldn't enjoy the ride he gave you."

"It makes sense, Cindi." Adam hadn't spoken much since she'd caught him in bed with Sam, and this is what he goes with?

"What, so now you take her side?" Adam looked away, back into the dark shaft at their feet. That's how it is brother? Fine. Cindi shoved the laspistol into her belt and climbed into Sam's arms. It was only slightly humiliating. She pushed the feelings down. They'd deal with this later.

"Grab that for me, would you Adam?" Sam pointed to her oversized flamethrower. Overcompensate much, Sam?

Adam threw the strap over his back and dove into the elevator cable, he swung for a moment then wrapped his legs around the base started dropping ten feet at a time, jerking to a stop whenever his speed grew too fast. Cindi felt nauseous just watching, but she would have gladly endured it, just to avoid giving Sam the satisfaction.

Sam reached out and grabbed a cable too, one armored hand locked on with a click, and moments later, they began to smoothly descend as if by magic. "The suit is highly adaptive." Sam answered her unspoken question.

While they descended into the darkness, Cindi was awash with emotions. She had tried not to feel hurt when she found Adam in bed with Sam, tried hard, but no one could walk in on that and.. and.. and.. she didn't blame Adam, she knew he cared about her. Sam on the other hand. Sam hadn't even had the decency to pretend to be sorry. She'd practically shoved Cindi's face in the mattress. Cindi knew when a girl was marking her claim, hell Cindi had done it herself, only this wasn't just some stupid guy. It was Adam and her predatory cousin had taken advantage of him when he wasn't himself. Cindi wondered how many men and women, oh yes- Sam had all kinds of appetites, she knew -had entered that loose cunt.

"I guess you're pretty upset with us. I need you to get your head right though. We're gonna need your help on this op, lil' Cin."

How fucking dare she call her that now?!?! Fucking cock robbing xenoslut!

"I'm not mad at Adam." She lied through her teeth. "You took advantage of him. He can't control himself."

"He seemed pretty in control an hour ago. Pretty happy too."

Cindi seethed. "He can't say no, Sam. You think just because he enjoyed himself, that makes it okay?"

A troubled look passed over Sam's face. Cindi was right over the target now. "I love him Cindi. I've loved him since we were kids."

"I love him, too!" Ugh. Yes. She heard the little sister whine in her voice when she said it. Here she was, being boxed out by the two older, cooler kids, sent home to study by herself AGAIN. Well she wasn't going down without a fight.

"Not like I do, little cousin." Sam gave her a patronizing look. "Whatever you feel for him, its just different. Adam and I have a connection. We've done things. There's things I can do for him you just can't."

Cindi lifts her chin, a victorious smile spreading across her face, guess who planted her flag in him first bitch? "Wanna bet?"

"You didn't!" Sam had the nerve to look shocked.

"Why is it anymore wrong than what you did, cousin?"

"Because it just is!" Sam insisted frantically. She made a mistake, teaching Cindi to be brave. Lil' Cin had always backed down in past confrontations. Not now. Not ever again.

"You can play the cool older sister, just looking out for me card, all you want. But I know the truth. You're afraid. Because no matter how much stronger you are, how much cooler or more experienced. Deep down you know he'll pick me. Just like everybody else does. They always pick me."

They rode the rest of the way down in silence.

Adam bounced onto the roof of the dead elevator. No hatch, Luckily Sam had found him the perfect can opener. He blasted away a chunk of roof and dropped through, the hot jagged tips of metal scratching his arm on the way by.

He'd dropped fast at the start, and only went faster once he started accidentally eavesdropping on Cindi and Sam. How did he always manage to make his relationships worse with each decision he made? He cared about both women. Deeply. He'd accepted that part of himself, but it wasn't like he could have them both, could he? No. That wasn't going to go over well with anyone. Adam was going to have to hurt someone he loved again, maybe two someone's. Probably two. He tugged at his hair. Priorities. First they had to get Aunt Kat out of here, and honestly, he wouldn't feel safe until they were all off planet at this point. Thiidian felt like a **** trap.

Sam landed with a soft pop, despite her squirming luggage. She dropped through the hole he made and accepted her heavy flamethrower with a nod. Cindi was ....less coordinated.

"Hey if you need some help making noise I could have brought my old drumset." Sam whispered quietly.

Cindi got back on her feet- christ even that was noisy -and glared over fiery red cheeks at her, though if it was from anger or embarrassment, it didn't matter, as long as she stayed quiet.

They were in a large antechamber of sorts. Probably a natural cave, expanded to use a base for drilling and tunneling judging by the ruined equipment. Adam had a bad feeling he knew exactly what had trashed the place. The first two tunnels were clear, but the second to last one was nearly caved in, that was where they needed to go, according to Cindi.

The place was eerily quiet, the sound of their footsteps almost impossibly loud, Cindi's in particular. She was clearly on edge, and didn't know how to handle it. At one point she bumped into a stalactite and yelped, it echoed for a long, long time.

"If you're gonna piss yourself, do it now and get it over with, Cinderella." Sam drawled.

"As if." Cindi glared at her.

"Cindi go scout ahead. Just... not far." Adam pointed to the top of the rocks. "Sam come here."

"You were fine up top, now you're not. You and Cindi, its gonna get someone killed."

"Maybe you shouldn't have fucked us both then." Sam held up her hand. "I'm sorry. I know this is fucking things up. She just got under my skin a little."

"What did she say to you that was so bad?" Sam gave him a quick glance then looked away. "Its nothing. I'm five by five."

Adam shrugged and started after Cindi, only for Sam to catch his arm.

"Adam." She swallowed. "You meant what you said about wanting me? You'd choose me? Right?" She studied the floor and Adam was once again shocked at how little he really knew his best friend.

"We can't do this right now. First we get your mom. Then we'll deal with this." Adam took a half step before he realized his mistake. Stopped. Turned around so quickly Sam bumped into his chest. "Sam, I'm sorry. This isn't your fault. It's not Cindi's either. Its mine. I did this. Not either of you. I'll tell her to give you a break, and I want you to do the same." Sam finally met his eyes. He saw just how badly she'd needed to hear this. "Whatever happens, I won't leave you behind. I can't."

Sam's eyes blazed. She wanted to kiss him, he could tell. But she thought better of it. "What's in there is really bad, isn't it? Let's go kill it together."

"Together." Adam agreed.

Sam pushed past him, and looked back with a little smile. "Well what are you waiting for? I'm not gonna carry you."

Kat had been in the cage for a little over an hour by now when she heard the ping. Her pad was alerting her to an attempted connection to a nearby wave-comm. Only a point to point transmission, at this depth, which meant the kids had disregarded her warnings and come to get her. Kat didn't know whether to scream at them or dance with joy, there'd be time for both once they were all safely on the surface she decided.

Her daughter came in first, a deadly armored valkyrie, hefting an oversized weapon, eyes snapping left and right, Adam just behind her, sweeping the walls with a rifle and Cindi bringing up the rear with a sad little pistol. Kat tried to get their attention, but her screams echoed off the glass walls. Finally they noticed her. Sam cut straight through the room, shouting her name, she reached the glass and started pounding with her armored fist. Not even a scratch.

"Typhon! There's a Typhon here!" Kat screamed at them. Her frantic pantomimes only confused them. Sam drove an electroblade into the reinforced walls, barely a scratch. Cindi was furiously working at her pad. Only Adam was looking at her now. Mouthing the words as she screamed them. Kat took a deep breath and spoke as slowly and clearly as possible. "Ty-phon."

Just when Adam seemed to get it, Cindi's face lit up with triumph and the room was flooded with light. As the kids shielded their eyes, only Kat could see the mass of dark, vengeful evil looming on the ceiling above them.

Adam watched his Aunt screaming and waving through the glass, his sense of unease growing by the minute. T- something? Cindi let out a shout and light flooded the lab. Eyes nearly blinded, Adam saw Aunt Kat's face go slack with horror, her eyes on the ceiling above. He followed them up and saw the stuff of nightmares. Again. Typhon. That was his Aunt had been trying to say. That was what he had encountered on Gorgo. Not some mythical creature, a living breathing monster. It dropped onto Sam without a sound.

Adam fired off a shot as it fell, impossibly, the Typhon dodged, long arms grabbing his cousin and using her as a counterweight, twisting and spinning out of the way of the plasma, before releasing Sam to cartwheel screaming across the room. Adam held the trigger down and sprayed, putting up a wall of fire between them. The Typhon sprang behind the glass cage and glared at him hatefully, daring Adam to shoot through his Aunt.

"Lights out!" Cindi screamed. And then they were plunged back into darkness. All of them lightblind, while their pupils contracted. "Can it see in the dark?"

There was a heavy skitter on top of the glass cage. It was still moving, still hunting.

"I don't think so." Adam replied. Cindi had edged closer to him. He could just make out her shape in the darkness. "But it can smell us."

"Do you see it?" She called out. He didn't. The only thing Adam saw was darkness. A terrible looming silence and then a huge mass of flesh dropped on him. Adam never even saw it coming. He felt the plasma rifle being ripped from his hands. Then a powerful grip around his neck, **** the life out of him. Adam tried to pry its grip free, but he couldn't even make it budge, like a kitten trying to overpower a tiger. The Typhon drew him face to face, so close he could feel its hot, stinking breath. It sniffed him, confusedly, then roared in his face, spittle and sound blasting him.

Adam drove his revolver into its mouth and squeezed. The side of its mouth blew apart and it threw him back with a scream. Adam felt his back slam into something. Ouch. His breath gone, head spinning.

"Close your eyes! Cindi screamed. The lights flared into life like supernovas. Adam could see their glow through eyes squeezed shut. Opening them was a burning agony. He peeked through squinted lids as the Typhon wailed and clawed at its blinded eyes. Then little Cindi Carter squeezed off three shots into its chest and it dropped like a rock, twitching and oozing dark red liquid. She rushed to his side just as he was beginning to get his breath back.

"Are you ok?" Cindi cupped the back of his head and her hand came back bloody. Not good. She turned her head to scan the room. "Sam! Sam can you hear me? Where are you? Tell me you're okay!" Cindi turned back to her brother, loving eyes wracked with worry.

Adam wanted to warn her, to say something, but his lungs refused to fill with more than a thimble of air. He tried to point with his eyes, at the rising, never dying monster behind her. Cindi turned to see it rising to its full height. It was enormous, taller and thicker even than the one he'd fought on Gorgo. More... wrong as well, as if the blend of unnatural features was even more ****, hairy and scaly, with a face that barely even seemed human. Like a snake crossed with a gorilla.

It took a step towards them, wounds sucking closed before their very eyes, only to stop at the heavy metallic snap-hiss sound that came from its left.

"I'm five by five." Sam growled. And a tongue of blue hot flame arced out to catch the creature full in the chest, sending it shrieking back, hair aflame. She stalked it across the room, spitting fire and ****. Fast as it was the Typhon wasn't able to reach her through the walls of flame. Instead, it ran; howling and recoiling at its burnt flesh as it fled across the room.

Adam staggered to his feet, finally able to breath again. He didn't have any Heartbreaker rounds, he realized. And while Sam was covering the creature with burns, he could already see the first tank was running low. He stepped over his ruined plasma rifle and chucked a grenade. "Frag out!"

Sam dove behind a nearby workstation just before the shrapnel tore through the air. Adam dropped into a dead sprint, wheelgun blazing in his hands. Heavy tungsten punching deep into alien flesh. He peppered it with Lifetakers until he emptied the chamber, dropped it and delivered a two footed kick into the monsters ruined chest with all his weight behind it. The Typhon staggered back, blood oozing from a hundred cuts and burns, fell to its back.

Kat almost cheered when she saw the kids, her family drive that monster to its knees. It was their bloodright, she felt the savage thought in her very bones. These creatures had taken their grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, the Carter family deserved their pound of flesh. She sneered as the three of them stood over the burnt, bleeding carcass.

"Finish it!" She commanded from behind the glass.

Only they didn't. Instead, Cindi tackled Sam of all things, screaming and basing her with little fists, dragging her to the ground with pure ferocity. What in the world! Sam for her part, looked equally incensed, she grabbed her little cousin and smashed her stupid with a furious headbutt. Adam finally managed to drag the- now quite dazed - Cindi off her cousin and held them at arms length. Sam launched herself into a renewed attack, only not at Cindi, no, she pounced on Adam, furiously kissing him and tearing at his clothes. Only for Cindi to try and latch on to his legs, clutching and hissing, when the two came together the fighting began all over again. It would have been comical, if it wasn't so terrifying. Kat looked back to the Typhon, whose wounds were already closing, its hateful glare locked on her. And then she quaked inside her prison as two things happened simultaneously, Kat realized the creature was far smarter and more capable than they'd she'd feared, and almost in reaction to her thought, the Typhon smiled.

Adam shoved the two women apart again. He managed to toss Sam a full meter this time, good, they needed the breathing room. "It's the Typhon!" He screamed at them again. The heavy copper musk was so thick he was surprised it wasn't visible to the naked eye. He finally broke through to them, Cindi dropped to the floor, hugging her knees and rocking back and forth with anxiety, Sam was little better dry heaving against the desk she'd landed on. The Typhon meanwhile was nearly back on its feet though it looked slower than before. Adam swung an equipment rack into it with full ****, but it just bounced off without even making it flinch.

"Can't. Breathe!" Sam fought to get the words out. "Help. Cindi!"

Cindi was hyperventilating on the floor, her body redder than he'd ever seen it, moments away from a heart attack. "sti-stims-st-Stimulants." She whispered, hand reaching for Adam's old pad.

"Sam, give yourself a dose of stims!" Adam passed it on. But he didn't have time to make sure they followed through. He was on his own against this thing. It rose over him like an elder god, ancient and hungry; three meters tall and probably twice as his mass, easily 400 kilos. Its eyes swirled with a hatred that spanned generations. Adam could sense madness in there, countless rapes and murders and worse. This creature hated him. Hated all life. Its only purpose was to spread corruption and ****. A god of evil.

Adam dodged its first swipe, rolling under it and grabbing an electroblade he'd pulled out of Sam's hands before she could gut Cindi. He put a deep gash along its ribs and danced out of reach again. He'd kill it with a thousand cuts if he had to.

The next attacks were faster, fiercer. It was all Adam could do to keep out of its way, he saw an opening and drove the blade into the creatures thigh and ripped it free, blood spurting down its leg. The creature fell to one knee, its claws swiping at empty air, Adam hacked at its arm and bit deep into the flesh, but the diamond hard bones refused to break. He caught the barest edge of a backhand and flew backward in a tangled of limbs. Coughing, Adam struggled to find his feet and so did the Typhon, it was healing slower now, he was sure of it. He spared a glance at his two companions, Cindi looked better than Sam, she was nearly on her feet, neither one was in shape to fight though.

Adam dashed forward and aimed a slash at its huge, insect like crotch. It simply leaped out of his reach, and landed with a snarl. Adam faced off with it again. He saw the same weakness as before, its thighs were too hard to guard against a shorter target. Adam would stab it again, and then when it dropped its knees, he'd cut its fucking head off. He darted forward and stabbed the other thigh, aiming to cripple if he couldn't kill. He drove the blade deep then stopped. It was stuck. He realized to his horror that the creature had trapped him, using its own wounds as bait and now it flexed that imhuman thigh trapping the blade still peeking its tip out the back. Before Adam could release it and throw himself back, the creature grabbed him.

Cindi was watching her brother die. There were no other words for it. The Typhon had one hand wrapped around her brother's neck, the other was pounding him into the floor. Punishing blows rained down on his face and chest, blood spurting wherever they landed. She even thought she heard a bone crack. In the fog of her mind, a question **** its way to the front of her mind. Why wasn't Adam affected by the musk? Was it just that he was male, and they female? Did it even matter? They were all about to die horribly. The Typhon had wrapped its arms around her brother's neck and was slowly crushing it, taking great satisfaction in the increasingly blue shade of his skin. No. Adam had told her when they'd played that silly game of 'truth or dare', that he'd been affected, too. It wasn't that. Keith had felt it too, when Adam spit in his face, that was right before the last time they'd almost died. When Cindi had saved them. And afterwards, Adam had- he'd-OHMYGOD.

He asked her to put the BB in his gut. Nanotech to keep him from succumbing to his base instincts. Time to turn those instincts back on brother.

"Sam!" Her cousin had been trying to drag herself back to the flamer. "EMP!"

She didn't even hesitate, just threw the little pulse bomb at her dying cousin's feet. The whole world swam when it went off, her brain's signals crossed, up became down, smell became sound, she heard(?) the Typhon roaring in agony. It's hands clutching at its head, pounding away at the confused static inside its mind. Adam lay motionless at its feet. Out of the fight at best, more likely dead. Cindi wished she had a grenade of her own to shove down this monsters throat. That would be a good way to go.

"Come on you bastard!" She screamed, tears of rage flowing. She fired her laspistol, but the shot went wide. She couldn't seem to make her arms work yet. She was **** to watch as the creature that killed her brother grabbed Sam by the foot and dragged her into the air, only to slam her down into the floor. It was mad with pain and confusion. Another slam. Sam just barely managed to shield her head, so her brain wouldn't explode. The Typhon dropped her, then raised one foot to curb stomp the source of its misery.

And that's when Adam tackled it with a scream.

Adam was gone. The higher functions of his mind subsumed by raw animal ****. Even the colors of the lab had muted to shades of grey, and one blazing red patch, that he needed to tear to pieces.

Adam smashed into the creatures back and rode it to the floor, laying punches into the back of its head along the way. He grabbed a handful of thick tentacle like hair smashed its face into the cold steel floor. Then flew through the air as the creature flung him away. Adam tumbled, landing on his feet and one hand in a low crouch. He was up and charging forward before the Typhon even stood all the way up. All that weight made him slow. Weak.

Adam had fought poorly before. He wasted time thinking when he should have just acted. That wasn't a problem anymore. He knew the Typhon was cunning, it wanted to bait him. He let it. He didn't slow down. Slow was bad. Adam was fast. He dropped and slid between its legs thrusting both hands up and grabbing its disgusting insect cock. He tore it off! The Typhon screamed and whirled around. Adam threw the shriveled dick back to its owner and roared a challenge. It struck with blinding speed. A massive swipe with its right claw. Adam wasn't fooled.

Duck.

The bite it had tried to finish him with connected with only open air. He delivered an uppercut that smashed fangs to pieces.

Back.

Then threw himself backwards to dodge the bear hug it tried next. He caught a hint of something new in its eyes. Fear. That was good.

Strike.

He picked up the electroblade in a roll and slammed it into the monster's chest, then shoved its head into the path of one of Cindi's wild laser blasts. It was like the whole world had slowed down, the Typhon included. It was a big, slow, stupid bear. Adam was a wolverine. And he would drag this thing to hell for what it had done to his mates. Adam felt the fury. He rode the lightning. Hell, he was the lightning!

Seconds later, it was over. A combination of stabs, a gaping head wound and a truly vicious series of punches had finally dropped it to the floor. Dead. Or as close to it as they got. Adam rose, his clothes caked in gore, mind beginning to clear. His throat hurt. Adam realized he'd been screaming nonstop during the fight. He had to really try and resist the urge to tear out his fallen enemy's heart and devour it.

No one said much afterwards. A few frantic hugs as they checked their wounds. It was amazing that they'd survived at all, so a few injuries seemed a decent trade off. Sam had a few cracked ribs and maybe a concussion. Cindi was a little cut up from some shrapnel, nose bleeding from Sam's headbutt. Adam felt fine, he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing though. They managed to get Aunt Kat out minutes later, another round of hugs, blood and dirt smeared her clothes before she relented so they could make their way to the surface.

They were all nervous smiles and laughter on the way back through the tunnels. After cheating ****, their other problems felt light-years away and oh so manageable. Adam's biggest worry was when he got to the surface, he was likely going to have to make some hard romantic choices. The girls didn't make it any easier, both of them were eye fucking the shit out of him ever since he'd killed that thing. Adam had to admit, near **** experiences were a hell of an aphrodisiac, his cock hard gotten rock hard before the blood had dried on his hands, and it hadn't gone down since. Hard choices, indeed.

Tunnel three was just as they'd left it, rocks blocking the entire thing, with a narrow gap at the top just obscuring their path to the antechamber. Sam squeezed through first with Cindi's borrowed laspistol. She gave the all clear and Cindi made it through next without incident. Kat was just about to step through when they both felt a deep rumble in the floor.

"Just some surface tremors." She looked back at Adam. "It will be fine, hun."

Not fine!

Adam grabbed his Aunt and dived backward, just before the roof fell down around them. He choked on the dust, hands patting himself down, seemed to be all in one piece. His Aunt did the same just beside him, her eyes wide with shock. Another **** avoided, it seemed.

Kat held up her arm, a point to point wave-comm, audio only flashed on her pad. She put it on speaker.

"Mom are you there! Are you ok?" Sam's voice came through strong, but scared.

"We're ok, hon!" Kat's relief was palpable. This was too many lucky breaks.

"Us too. Cindi hit her head though." A groan came through the background. "I'm gonna take her up to the surface. Can you find your own way around?"

"Go honey! We'll meet you up there."

"Sam." Adam cut in. "Don't go home. Go to the place where Cindi found us. We'll figure out our next move from there."

"Copy." The transmission cut out and the two of them were alone in the darkness. The tunnels seemed a lot darker and more hostile than it had just minutes before.

"Do any of those other paths lead back to the elevator?" Adam asked his Aunt.

"Not directly." Kat shook her head. "Could we dig our way out?"

"Maybe if some of this equipment was working. It would take days by hand."

Kat frowned. "Lets go back to the lab, we'll see if we can find another way out. Maybe they'll even have some food. All that excitement. I'm so hungry I could eat a horse! What about you, Adam, are you hungry?"

Adam stared at his Aunt's impressive decolletage. Hungry. Yes. But not for food.

Bite. Her.
