IR Day 16 - New Coach

With a surprise event in store for the afternoon, it’s hard for a coach to try to get a team to focus on anything. You have learned about this as captain. They’re just wondering what kind of nonsense that FUTA has in store.

So Zofia sits everyone down in a classroom in the main building and tells stories about her time in the military. She’s still in the military, and why she is coaching soccer is… not exactly clear, but some of the girls seem to think that it has something to do with her sister, who is one of the players here.

Anyway, she’s telling stories about what it’s like to enter a building where she knows that hostile terrorists are hiding. It sounds pretty exciting, but she’s talking about the mindset that’s necessary to go into these situations with limited information. It’s a lecture about being ready for anything. While… stories about terrorists lying prone in unexpected places and leaving elaborate, high-tech traps is not directly applicable to soccer, you feel as though you understand what Zofia is getting at. But… she’s not talking to the team. She’s not trying to prepare you for this event. You feel as though she’s talking directly to Karin, who doesn’t quite realize what’s happening yet. She’s trying to prepare Karin for the unexpected, and that unexpected thing is you crushing this game tomorrow and seizing control of the team.

Zofia is onto you. And she doesn’t seem to mind. You can understand how she might not love having a girl like Karin as captain. Karin is so good. She’s in good shape herself, even if she does manage to be… spectacularly curvy about it. And she has skills. But her rich-girl sense of entitlement is an issue, and Zofia doesn’t like it. You sense that she would prefer you as captain.

Well, that’s what you plan to give her.

It’s not that Karin isn’t popular, because she is. The other girls like her, just maybe not the way that she wants them to. You start to think about how to handle this event. Earlier this week it was beach volleyball. It seems safe to assume that it will be something sexy. You have noticed how FUTA is zeroing in on that. Something in the water, something that demands a swimsuit or a revealing uniform. They’ll find a way to make Yoga competitive or something. They just want to point the cameras at some T&A. Whatever it is, you will remain in the background. Your goal is not to get attention today, it’s to get attention tomorrow. You just have to be… low-key. That should be easy.

You look at your phone, a bit sneakily, and tap a link from your sister. It’s some song on Youtube. A FUTA ad pops up and it’s… breasts. Literally. Huge boobs in a FUTA branded top. Is that Ingrid? Is she the model? Is FUTA using her for marketing?

You sigh and put your phone down, taking deep breaths.
