In the public eye

Despite the limited number of werewolves available, the videos kept coming one after another and they were able to create a global pandemic out of it. Lies mixed with small amounts of truth, careful editing, and presenting facts in a specific way, made it so that everyone is only talking about the new "werewolf" virus.

The Council moved fast and the werewolves started to avoid anything that could be contaminated, as it was necessary for them to keep their daily lives, so they won't have to attract more attention. Sometimes mistakes happen, but they learn quickly what to do and what to avoid.

Just when the Council thought they gained control over the situation, and the news died down, new videos started popping up at an alarming rate. Strangely, this left the Council scratching their head in frustration as the new werewolves came out of nowhere since no pack reported missing members.

The LDC became the new popular trend. The damn thing could be found everywhere and people were taking it for fun. Some people strongly opposed it in the beginning but the authorities showed no mercy and started suppressing everyone who was deemed 'a danger to society'. The disregard for people's liberties was alarming, but the voices eventually died down as there were no side effects from taking the drug.

Sitting at a table at Luna's Keep, together with Jenny, Leyla and Tom, you are finishing your meals and are discussing the graduation party plan. Since this is one of the pack's restaurants, you don't have to worry about LDC and can enjoy your meal in peace.

"Maybe we should skip it..." says Tom worried.

"Will you relax? You didn't even see any werewolf attacks."

"I see new ones every day!"

"Yeah, in Europe!"

"There was one in New York!"

"Are you scared of the big bad wolf Tommy?" you tease him.

"You should be too... what are you going to do if someone is infected and transforms at the party? What if they'll attack Jenny?"

"She's a big girl, she can take care of a werewolf, can't you dear?"

"Sure!"

"Can you stop bullying my boyfriend? Don't worry I will protect you!" Leyla pats his shoulder, giving him a reassuring smile.

You've also had this discussion in private but you are more worried about the LDC than any werewolf troublemaker. The girls decided it was safe enough to enjoy the party, and insisted the whole group go. It's too late to change their mind now anyway.

"Fine, whatever! Don't come crying to me when werewolves start appearing out of nowhere."

"Did you even see one?"

"Remember Bandon? They said it was a wild animal, but I bet my left testicle that it was a werewolf."

*Cough* *Cough*. You choke on your drink at the mention. Sure, he is right... but also wrong at the same time...

"You think there was a virus spreading so long ago and no one noticed?"

"Who knows... They might be hiding something..."

"Well it's decided, we are going! I'll kill any werewolf that ruins my graduation party"

"I pray you don't transform into a werewolf and get killed by your girlfriend, Tom."

"Very funny!"

"Would you like something else? Maybe something sweet? The desserts are to die for!" Since you've finished eating Elle came by to take the empty plates away.

"No thank you, Elle!"

"Can you get us the bill please?"

"Sure, I'll be right back!"

You pay the bill and leave the restaurant. The girls will meet Nicole and go on a beauty tour to get their hair done and whatever else is necessary, while you'll go with Tom to watch a game live.

You did struggle a little with avoiding anything that could be affected by LDC but you somehow got used to it and now the pack can live a relatively normal life. Of course, the investment the pack made in securing most businesses that could pose a problem also helped. LDC's biggest threat is also its biggest flaw. Since it has no taste or smell, it can be exchanged easily. Who will know if you are using LDC or water?
