Cleaned before supper

"Well Lauren, it looks like you've had your share of farmwork for the day." Jade chuckled as Lauren struggled to get the mud off her face.

"Let's get you cleaned up before supper."

Jade started towards the house. Lauren, still slipping in the filth, stumbled after her cousin. Her ears burned at the laughter from the farmhands. They neared the house, but Jade turned to her, blocking her path.

"W...what's up?" Lauren asked. "I thought I was going to wash off."

"You are, but there's no way I'm letting you into the house like that." Jade sniffed, then frowned. "No offense, but you stink!"

Lauren grit her teeth, but tried to stay calm.

"Okay, well how am I going to get cleaned?"
