“212 area code?” Amanda asked

“That’s here…” she answer the phone on speaker

“Mrs. Lake?” The voice over the end of the line asked, you moved close to hear.

“Yes… this is she, who might I ask is calling.”

“My name is Sargent Vargas, NYPD… we have your husband in our holding cell.”

“What for?” Amanda asked

“A hate crime…” the voice said

You and Amanda’s shared a glance.

“Where are you located?”

“59th street Columbus Circle Subway Station, I’m with the Transit bureau and this happened on a subway train”

“I’ll be right there.” Amanda said as she hung up.

“I need to go.” Amanda began to say before you got up with her. “Hey, I’ll stay outside in cause you need me, but I’m not letting you go alone.”

She smiled at you “thanks…” and gave you a kiss before you told the server to cancel your order and made your way to the subway.
