The Adversary

As Jesse and her companion walked the halls of the Olisboseum, the floor and walls began to shift and twist until a set of double doors stood before them. "Well, I guess we're going in there." Jesse quipped. The two of them entered the double doors and found themselves in an observation room. "Why did the Olisboseum bring us here?" the redhead wondered aloud as she walked to the large window on the other side of the room.

Looking through the window, Jesse saw another room several feet below. In the room there were several FBC staff members entombed against the walls in gold-colored crystal. At the center of them room stood Dr. Raya Underhill, who specializes in studying the bridges between dimensions. She was standing before a cowering scientist and with a raise of her hand, she summoned the gold-colored crystals to form around the scientist.

What the hell is Underhill doing? Preserving them in amber? How did she learn to do that? Jesse thought to herself. Bliss shuddered in negativity. What's wrong? Is it Underhill? Bliss continued to thrash as Dr. Underhill looked up at Jesse with golden glowing eyes.

Dr. Underhill flew up to the window with tremendous speed, "Your mind is filled with flesh." She spoke with a monotonous English accent. She then put her hand to the glass, "I feel the presence of a yearning within you. It is a miscalculation and will be your curse." Her eyes glowed brighter and the window began to vibrate and crack.

"We should probably go." Jesse grabbed her companion's hand and quickly ran through the double doors, which vanished behind them as soon as they exited. Seemingly out of danger, Jesse took a moment to collect herself, "So, Underhill is definitely possessed. I'm guessing that was the adversary the glowy sun lady mentioned. "

She looked down the barren hallway, "Let's find those Altered Items. I have a feeling we're gonna need all the firepower we can get."
