Chapter 5

What does the group find past the first room?
A dead end?
The pair of clones guarding the outer door placed their hands on the handles of the barriers to the next room, and pulled back to **** it open. The doors moved slow, being exceedingly heavy, but they let out a loud creaking whine as they were **** apart.
Now able to see into the next room, Commander Gree lifted up his hand and signaled for two troopers to advance and begin to sweep the room for anything dangerous. The troopers advanced quickly, weapons at the ready as they plunged into the room on opposite sides to make sure nothing was left uncovered.
It was a rather empty room however, circular with a swirling design on the floor leading to the center where a large black triangle looking object stood. There were no other doors visible within the room.
"Clear!" Both clones said as they made a full sweep around, finding nothing that seemed dangerous.
With that, the rest of the group entered the chamber, with the two Jedi and the Commander walking towards the object in the center as the rest of the squad spread out to search more of the room.
"What is that?" Barriss asked, stopping along with the others as they drew close.
"I am not sure..." Luminara answered, inspecting it herself.
It was a thin pyramid like design, with four different sides of the same reflective black material, almost like obsidian but exceedingly smooth. It was about half as tall as the people standing around it, but there was no other discernable function to it.
"Seems like a dead end, Commander." One of the clones reported, as their continued search turned up nothing.
"That can't be all there is to it. There must be something we're not seeing..." Barriss said, looking to her master.
"Agreed, Padawan. Perhaps this object is the key..." She said, she stepped closer towards it. She raised her hand, and placed it against the surface of the mysterious shape. It was cool to the touch... at first. Then, it begun to warm as a light seemed to shine from within it like stars in the night sky, causing Luminara to take a step back.
Suddenly, the doors leading into the room slammed shut with a loud crash, cutting the room off from the hallway the group had come from.
"What?" Commander Gree gasped out as he saw their only way out now resealed, the clones that had been outside being cut off. Several of the clones rushed towards the door, attempting to pull them back open with no avail.
"Calm yourself, Commander. I think I see what is happening here..." Luminara said, looking upon the object as the light seemed to be brightest at its base.
"Master? What do you mean?" Barriss asked, looking to his master as she tried to conceal her concern.
The room shook, as a feeling of **** overcame the people standing inside and the swirling design on the floor begun to rotate. It felt like they were moving...
"It seems to be some kind of Elevator..." Luminara explained, as she watched the light at the base of the object begin to move up slowly towards the top of it. Now it was starting to make sense, this must be a sort of model of the tower to guide this elevator where to go. It seemed to be heading where Luminara had touched, towards the top. Perhaps if anyone else was here, they would be there.
Where does this Elevator take them?
