Reminder

"Oh yes, that reminds me." Sabrina's mother said.

She reached into her skirt pocket and pulled out her own facemask; one of the black cloth ones with a plastic ventilator attached to it. She put the mask on while gesturing for Sabrina to enter the doctor's office. Her mother followed her in and shut the door behind them.

Once she was inside the room Sabrina relaxed a little. She kept her hands firmly on her chest as she admired the dark coolness of the room. The blinds were drawn so only a small amount of sunlight peeked around their edges; a computer monitor on the desk and a dim bulb above the eye test station were the only other sources of light. After the exposure of the waiting room it seemed private and secluded. Her mother took one of the two seats in front of the desk, while Doctor Naresh indicated that Sabrina should take a seat at the eye testing station. The faded leather of the chair pinched at her skin. As she squirmed back into a seating position the chair also caught the straps of the face mask covering her crotch, causing it to roll down her thigh as she moved. With Doctor Naresh looking at his screen, Sabrina exposed her breasts to quickly fix her lower face mask. Her hands returned to her nipples just as the Doctor turned back around.

For the next ten minutes or so, Sabrina could almost forget that she was naked. The doctor lowered a device over her eyes and face and ran through a series of tests; which images were sharper, which colour was sharper, can you read the bottom line of text... that sort of thing. Once they were done the doctor pressed a button and the office lights flickered into life. The eye device moved upwards.

"If you could please take the seat next to your mother." Doctor Naresh asked.

Sabrina moved without thinking. Not wanting the mask straps to catch on the leather again, she placed one of her hands on the back of the chair and pushed herself into a standing position. It was only when she'd regained her footing that she realised she'd just flashed one of her breasts at the Doctor! She quickly covered up again, then turned her bare behind to the doctor and retreated to the safety of the chair. After a few moments, he followed her over and sat behind the monitor.

"So what's wrong with her eyes, Doctor?" Sabrina's mother asked. "Is it her peripheral vision?"

"I'm glad to say that there's nothing wrong with her eyes." Doctor Naresh replied. "Her peripheral vision is fine, her vision is 20/20... I can see nothing wrong."

"Then why didn't she see that she was naked this morning?"

"It's not really my area of expertise, but have you considered it may be psychological?"

Sabrina frowned. "What, you think I did this on purpose? Or that I'm crazy?"

"No, no. I'm not saying that. Or maybe... look, I deal with eyes. The mind is a mystery to me. I'm just saying that it's a possibility."

"I don't think-"

Her mother cut in. "Can you refer us to a good psychologist?"

"Ah... not really. Again, I deal with eyes. I generally don't have to refer my customers for therapy. However, let me take a look at our systems..."

The Doctor typed away at his keyboard and after a few moments was able to provide the name and phone number of a local psychologist. Sabrina's mother thanked him, and the next thing Sabrina knew she was headed towards the door again. They stepped back into the waiting room. Much to Sabrina's dismay the waiting area had filled with three new customers; two old women, and a handsome young man who stared wide-eyed at the nearly-naked eighteen year old. Sabrina was **** to wait at the counter while her mother settled payment with the receptionist. It seemed to take an eternity. Once it was finally over, they stepped out into the bright sunlight. A gentle breeze served to remind Sabrina just how exposed she truly was. They made their way briskly to the car, although when they reached it Sabrina's mother did not open it immediately.

"Oh yes dear, I almost forgot. I bought you this."

She made her way around the car and handed Sabrina the shopping bag.

"What's this?" Sabrina asked.

"There was a charity shop just up the road. I bought you some clothes."

"What!?" Sabrina yelled. She looked around embarrassed, then lowered her voice. "I've had access to clothes for the past twenty minutes and you're only telling me this NOW?"

"I forgot." her mother replied with a shrug. "As soon as I got back into the optometrist we were called in to see the Doctor. There wasn't time to tell you."

"Oh my god." Sabrina swore. She opened the bag and looked inside.
