Chapter 326

Meanwhile…
Miranda finds Jackson
Despite others giving up in order to please their own urges, multiple of the others were still out on the look-out.
This included Miranda and Macca who were teamed up, searching another part of the area together. It was an unlikely duo, especially after the way Macca was hitting on Miranda in front of her ex the night before. It was one woman he was yet to seduce and like many others, found it hard to get into her pants.
They didn’t have much to talk about as they called out for Jackson, waving their flashlights around. Eventually the Aussie caved in and tried to make conversation.
“Thought you were over this bloke?” Macca asked her.
She shrugged it off, not wanting him to dig deep into her former relationship or her feelings towards other guys.
“Don’t want to speak much tonight?” he asked her again.
“Why are you so aggravating?!” she snapped back, not in the mood for it at the moment.
He laughed initially, “Just trying to make convo… wasn’t just me getting on Jackson’s nerve last night either by the way, you didn’t do much to help things out there.”
It wasn’t a lie, Miranda wanted to make Jackson jealous ever since that night at the Eagle Nest. However, she didn’t appreciate being called out on it by Macca tonight.
“Well I’m trying to make it up now arent I?,” she eventually replied after a few seconds of silence.
“So back to my original question, are you over this dude or you still have the hots for him?”
Miranda sighed, her heavy breasts lightly bouncing down on her chest as she breathed in deeply before exhaling. She knew that Macca was going to let up on this so she caved in, hoping it would be enough to keep him quiet for the rest of the night.
“Just because I care about his safety and whereabouts does not mean I want to jump back into bed with him,” she explained, “Believe it or not, if any one of you was out there lost, I would have the same attitude towards finding them, even you.”
The Aussie smirked as they continued walking down the track, “Aw so you care about me huh?”
“Oh shut up,” she said, knowing he was messing with her again.
Suddenly, a voice in the distance screamed for help, ending their back and fourth discussion.
“Did you hear that??” Miranda asked.
Macca immediately walked ahead, speeding up as he approached a bit of a rocky cliff’s edge.
“I’m down here!!” the voice yelled again.
“Jackson!!” Miranda shouted, as they both ran towards at the edge before looking downwards.
The sophomore boy was at the bottom of it, laying on the ground, presumably unable to get up. He wasn’t in the best of condition, quite far from it which was obvious, even from up there.
“My leg… it’s fucked, I can’t get up myself!” he explained.
“Hold tight, we’re coming down,” Miranda told him.
Not even thinking twice about it, Miranda led the way now, beginning to climb downwards. Macca followed her lead, knowing his muscle strength would be key in getting Jackson back on his feet.
Together they carefully made their way down the edge of the minor rocky cliff. The last thing they needed is for another person to slip over and injury themselves just as badly.
“Jesus fucking Christ, what the fuck happened?” Macca asked him as he got down the cliff.
Jackson looked exhausted, not able to move, “I got up this morning for a walk and wasn’t concentrating enough when I tried climbing down here. Fucking stepped on some unstable rocks and came tumbling down, leg was trapped under them at first.”
“So you did go back to the swag last night?” Miranda asked.
“Eventually… yeah.”
“You didn’t tell anyone this morning when you left for a walk?” she asked again.
“I didn’t think anyone would care after last night,” he admitted, “Besides, everyone was still asleep.”
The busty blonde and even the Aussie felt bad for him, he had been out here for hours upon hours. Not even that far away from their campsite, if anyone had bothered to look earlier, he would have been found much earlier.
They inspected the damage in the dark, shining flashlights on his leg. There was a lot of dried up blood all down his skin. Not only that, he had a big cut down the side of his face, he was in terrible shape. Miranda opened up her water bottle that she had taken along with her, in the attempts to wash his leg.
“Is it broken mate?” Macca asked him.
He shook his head, gritting his teeth, still in a lot of pain, “Don’t think so, just can’t put any weight on my right leg.”
“It looks painful,” Miranda said, carefully trying to clean up his leg.
At the fall, his leg was initially trapped underneath the weight of the rocks that came tumbling down with him. He knew that had been what had caused his leg injury, making it impossible for him to get up and move.
“So you definitely can’t get up yourself?” Macca asked him again.
He shook his head, feeling like a massive liability to the both of them.
“Macca, how about you go for a quick walk down the track that way,” Miranda said, pointing east, “We’re going to have to carry him back up but we need somewhere a little less steep so see how it is that way.”
The Australian nodded and was quick up on his feet as he made his way to track the area. It left both Jackson and Miranda alone for the first time in quite a while.
“Was starting to worry nobody was coming,” he said honestly.
She could hear the sadness in his voice and it gave her no joy whatsoever, it certainly wasn’t karma or justice to her at all. Miranda looked at him, “We wouldn’t do that to you…”
Things may never be the same between them again but to see him in some genuine physical and emotional pain was playing on her heart strings.
“I am sorry…” he then said after a minute of silence, “About everything.”
For the first time in a while, Miranda managed to smile while being around Jackson. She nodded as she poured some more water on his bloody leg, “I know Jackson, I know you are.”
“I hope we can be friends again,” he told her.
She politely smiled down at him. Before she had a chance to say anything, Macca came running back towards them, “Alright mate, let’s get you to fuck out of here.”
“You found a way back up?” Miranda asked him.
“You better believe it,” he said, grabbing Jackson by the arm.
Miranda took his other one and they got him to his feet where he could put his arm around each of them, keeping him up right.
Back in the tent…
