Chapter 4 by ClutchWizard ClutchWizard

To whom does the wand appear?

Princess Daisy

Daisy, princess and ruler of Sarasa-Land, was walking through her castle's garden, appreciating the various plants and flowers. It was an unusually hot and sunny day, and that was saying something for the land's climate. While she was once accustomed to the heat, her tan had faded from her many trips outside her nation, and sweat dripped down her skin as she endured the sun. She had even forgone her regular, stuffy dress in favor of a short skirt and light, midriff-exposing top, but it had done little to abate her discomfort.

Daisy wondered if she should just go inside, where it was much cooler, when she suddenly felt something long, thin, and hard hit her atop her head.

"Ow!" she yelled. She was more surprised than hurt, though her scalp still smarted a bit. Rubbing her head, she looked around for whatever had just landed on her, until she saw a long, thin wand resting in the grass near her feet.

"Where in the world did you come from?" she idly asked the wand. She picked it up and twirled it in her hand. Nothing about it seemed too special. In her experience, real magical wands were usually much fancier looking, featuring multiple colors and star decorations. This one was rather plain and unassuming, looking more like a pretty stick than anything with real power. Still, she held onto it. There was a kind of mystery about it, especially as to why it fell on her head.

Having been standing around in the sun for a few minutes, Daisy was more aware of the heat than ever. As sweat trickled down her skin, she instinctively swallowed, her throat feeling incredibly parched.

"Man, I wish I had a nice, ice-cold glass of water right now," she said aloud, to no one in particular. To her astonishment, the wand in her hand began to glow, and she suddenly found a frosty, full glass of clear, icy water. She felt her mouth water as she stared at it, and throwing caution to the wind, she began chugging the liquid.

It was the cleanest, crispest, most refreshing water she had ever tasted. She gulped it down like she was dying of thirst, liquid spilling out the corners of her mouth and down her chest. It was wonderful, exactly the thing she needed right here and now.

Finishing the water to the last drop, she lowered the glass and used the other arm to wipe off her mouth. "Ahhh! Now that was just perfect!"

The princess felt much better. But she was puzzled as to where the water came from. She looked back at the wand in her hand. Was it really the cause? Did it hear her wish and grant it? If so, what else could it do?

Wanting to test it further, Daisy began to speak a second wish. "I wish I had a shaded table and chair, prepared with a pitcher of delicious lemonade for me to enjoy!"

Again, the wand began to glow, and Daisy heard a clatter behind her. Turning around, she saw a pretty round table, a large parasol with flower pattern print sticking out of the center. Next to it was a very cushy, comfy looking chair, and on top of was a large glass pitcher full of ice lemonade, with an empty glass ready to be filled.

Daisy looked down at the wand, wide-eyed. It really happened. The wand had really granted her wish and made everything appear out of thin air. And she didn't have to do anything but say what she wanted. This was unreal. Her mind was racing with the possibilities of what she could wish for. As a princess, her life was pretty pampered, but no one ever had everything they wanted, and she was no exception. The only question now was, what exactly did she want?

What does Daisy do with the wand?
