Pretend She Never Found It

Loryn decided to just pretend she hadn't found it and to do nothing. It wasn't like Jennifer was still a kid. Frankly, she was a big subscriber to the fact that there came a point in any parent's life that they just simply had to let their children grow up. Not necessarily in an "adult activity" sense, but...

Sometimes you just simply had to let your children grow up and make their own decisions.

Besides, who knows old the note was.

Tossing the note into the bag, she finished up.

Later that day, Loryn's phone rang. Answering it, her daughter's voice came from the other end.

"Mom?" Jennifer asked.

"Yes, hon?" Loryn greeted.

"I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be spending the night at Trish's house, okay?"

Loryn smiled. Not very old after all, it would seem. "Okay, Jenny." Smirking silently, she added, "have a good night, alright?"

"Oh, I will," Jennifer replied. The smile on her face could almost be heard through the phone. "I won't have to worry about that! I need to go though. See you tomorrow."

"Be careful!" Loryn replied, meaning in more ways than one. They hung up.

Loryn wondered if tonight would be her daughter's first time or was she already not a virgin? She might would never know but either way, it would be what it would be.

Then it struck Loryn--she would be alone for the rest of the day. Freedom. Alone. All by herself. Until tomorrow.

A smile crossed Loryn's face as she thought about what she could do with her free time. Maybe her daughter wasn't the only person who could have some fun that night...
