“Eeek,” Alexa cried as she desperately covered herself.
“Alexa! I told you those shorts were getting too old,” Victoria said. “And look at that. Ripped right at the seat of your pants.”
“M-mom… please. Let’s just go home,” Alexa said.
“Oh no. I told you you need new clothes. So you’re going to come with me and buy clothes or you’ll just be stuck in those ripped shorts,” Victoria said.
“B-but…” Alexa said. “People can see my underwear.”
“Which I also told you were too old for you,” Victoria said as she snatched Alexa’s bag away. “Now I want your hands at your sides.”
“What?!” Alexa cried.
Victoria took Alexa’s right hand and pulled it away. “Drop your other hand or I’ll just take your shorts away and make you spend the rest of the trip in just your underwear.”
Alexa gulped. She reluctantly dropped her hand to her side. As she did she heard giggling all around her.
“Mom please,” Alexa cried.
“Come on,” Victoria said as she dragged Alexa deeper into the mall.
