Who gets it?
Dustin Grey, a new trainer who just learned he won't be getting his starter from Oak
I couldn't believe what I was hearing right now.
"What do you mean you're out of starter Pokemon!" I shout at the old man, not afraid to let my feelings be heard about him.
My name is Dustin Grey, long time resident and orphan of Pallet town. Don't know who my parents were, just know they weren't here for me. So without a parental permission note to start my journey early like that little spoiled shit Gary or that dumbass Ash had, I had to wait until I was 18. But that was fine, it gave me more time to prepare myself with knowledge and supplies. Of course on the morning I was getting my starter and beginning my journey I had triple checked all my things, taking care to make sure I didn't forget anything. Life as an orphan taught me to not waste anything and to make every dollar count. I figured being an hour late was worth making sure I was ready.
That is, until this senile old fucker told me he ran out of Pokemon.
"Look Dustin, I understand you are frustrated, but raising your voice at me won't help. I'm sorry that I can't give you a new Pokemon, but a responsible trainer would have been here earlier." Oak chided me, infuriating me even more.
"Responsible!? Should have been here earlier?! I was being responsible by making sure I had everything ready with me one last time! And how could you have possibly run out?! You knew how many trainers needed Pokemon today! Why didn't you have enough ready, Professor Responsible!?" I retort at him.
He blushes, whether in embarrassment or anger I don't particularly care. "My capabilities in providing starter Pokemon is not in question here. While I commend you for making sure you were ready supply-wise, you still should have gotten up earlier to do it if you wanted to still get your starter on time." He crosses his arms in a defensive stance. "Now, you will still be able to receive a Pokemon from me when I next have one ready, but it could be a few days to a few weeks. You're free to wait or find somewhere else to get one."
My hands ball into fist, nails biting into my palms as I glare at this old man. Still trying to be high and mighty when he is the one that screwed up by not getting enough starters. I wanted so badly to punch him, but my luck he'd find a way to revoke my license for it.
"Can I use the restroom? I need a minute." I bite out, not wanting to jeopardize my future by losing it on the professor.
His eyes narrow for a moment before he sighs and points deeper into the lab. "Down the hall and to the right."
I stomp off, anger fueling my steps. When I get to the bathroom I slam the door shut and sit on the toilet. My head is in my hands as I try to think of what to do now.
'Days or weeks till I get a starter is unacceptable. Not only will it put me behind everyone that started today, it will set me back in the gym season. By the end of the week every other trainer could have gotten their first badges, veterans even further.' I think to myself frustratedly. 'But where else can I get a starter? Take a chance and charge out into the wild to catch one by just chucking balls at it? That would never work. Besides, this area is surrounded by rodents and birds, nothing starter worthy.'
I continue to think as my thoughts spiral in a depressing circle. I'm finally old enough to start my journey and get cucked at the starting line by that stupid old man who probably gave his bastard grandson first choi-
All of a sudden, I hear a thump. Looking up, I see a book on the sink counter that hadn't been there before. Looking up and around, I don't see anything that it could have fallen from. I frown, confused at where it came from. I get up and grab the odd book.
"The Rulebook?" I say confused. Popping it open I read the odd instructions inside. "Write any rule, new or old, and the world will treat it as real? Yeah right. What gullible shit would believe this?"
I'm about to chuck it in the crapper when I get this feeling in my gut, warning me not to. I usually try to trust my instincts and right now they are screaming for me to at least try it. Conflicted between not wanting to be an idiot and not wanting to work against my instincts, I decide to give it one try. Pulling out a pencil, I start writing.
New Rule: Professor Oak must provide Dustin Grey of Pallet town with a Pokemon the same day as the other starting trainers or else he will lose his license to be a Pokemon Professor.
Smirking at what I'd written, I feel my anger a bit sated. 'If this works, I get my starter or Oak loses his prized position. If not, well it was a nice dream.'
Not having much hope for the thing, I throw it into my backpack and leave the bathroom. I was honestly ready to go home to the orphanage disappointed and begin planning again to hopefully catch up with everyone.
When I get back to where the Professor is, he now has an awkward smile on his face in place of the grimace that he had when I went to the bathroom. I frown but disregard it. No fake smiling and false apology will make anything better today.
"Well professor, since I won't be getting my Pokemon today I guess I'll head home..." I start, but he interrupts me.
"W-wait, don't go just yet. I know I was a bit harsh previously, but I'm sure I can find you a suitable Pokemon. Just give me a moment to contact my fellow professors and perhaps some daycares or nurserys." He assures me, a fearful tone to his voice at the beginning.
His offer surprises me and I feel suspicious of the sudden change of tune to his treatment of me. "What's with the sudden change? Didn't you say you couldn't get a new Pokemon for me today? And that this was essentially my fault?" I question him bitterly.
He pales and waves it off. "O-oh, after cooling down a bit I realized I was a bit hasty in my assumption and should've seen you as the very responsible aspiring trainer you are." Oak apologizes and compliments in the same breath. "A-and when I said I couldn't get anymore, I was talking about the official Kanto starters. I'm sure I can find you a Pokemon suitable for your first partner. A-are you alright with a different starter than the others?"
Still a bit confused, I nod absently as he smiles relieved and rushes off to use the phone. While he does that, I pull the Rulebook out again and just look at it.
'Did it...work?' I wonder, now considering the possibility that this book is the real deal. 'I'm not sure if he genuinely changed his mind or if the book did it. But I can't just ask him, what if it's not true? Maybe I should actually test it this time. But on who?'
All of a sudden, the front door opens and in walks a beautiful girl about my age. She had long brunette hair framing her green eyes. She is wearing a form fitting green dress that hugged her young and shapely form. She wore it over a white shirt and had white knee high socks on with green shoes. This is Daisy Oak, the professor's granddaughter. She sees me and is surprised before smiling sweetly.

"Oh hey Dustin, what are you still doing here. I would have thought that all the starting trainers would be gone by now. Don't tell me grandpa screwed up and didn't get enough starters again." She says jokingly.
I frown in response. "Actually, yeah he did." I deadpan.
She freezes before bowing to me, shocking me. "Please accept my apologies. He is getting old and forgetting things like this. I'm sure he can find you a suitable starter so you don't have to wait to start your journey. Meanwhile, is there anything I can do to make up for this inconvenience?" She says in a very apologetic tone.
My eyes were wide staring at Daisy's bowed form. This girl wasn't as bad as her brother, but she had her own pride. Yet she so quickly bowed to me and apologized for her grandfather's mistake? That was even further evidence that there was something funny going on. But I needed to be absolutely sure.
While she couldn't see in her bowed state, I opened the Rulebook to the same page I wrote the first time and grabbed my pencil again. I consider what to write as I run my eyes across Daisy's form one more time and grin pervertedly. I scratch out a rule just below my previous one.
New Rule: If Professor Oak doesn't have a Kanto prepared in advance for Dustin Grey, Dustin can ask for sexual compensation from his granddaughter Daisy Oak.
After writing it down, I close the book and quickly slip it back into my backpack. I wipe my face of my previous grin and look at her blankly.
"Well since you asked so nicely, I think I would like to be compensated." I say inconspicuously.
She straightens up and blushes. "Of...of course. Um, we can- I can do that. We just, uh, we need some privacy you know. Um- Oh! Yes, I know of a room here we can...do our business. If you'll follow me?" She asks, and turns to the same hallway I went to find the bathroom in.
I start following, anticipation filling me as well as hope. 'Oh my Arceus...if she offers to do it...then this Rulebook is real...' I think to myself.
We reach a room that looks like an unused break room that's since been used for extra storage. There are some boxes stacked against the walls and a simple coffee table and couch in the middle of the room. Daisy closes and locks the door behind us before facing me. She is biting her lip with a nervous look on her face.
"Um, I know I'm obligated to do this by the rule, but I have never really done this kind of thing before. I haven't even really dated that much. So please understand I'm not really... experienced." She tells me, shyly looking away.
Smirking slightly as I drop my backpack on the ground, I walk up to her more confident than ever in what was about to happen. I am just inches from her now, her body pressed flush against the door. She is blushing to her roots and still won't meet my eyes.
"Of course I understand. But just to clarify Daisy, I want to hear it from your mouth...what are you not experienced in exactly?" I ask teasingly, leaning down so she was practically **** to look at me.
She finally meets my eyes again and just stares for a moment before responding. "S-sex Dustin. I'm not experienced in sex." She states, cheeks luminescent from embarrassment.
I grin as my final confirmation that the Rulebook works is stated. I would enjoy making use of such a powerful tool, but right now I have something else to focus on. I caress her face as my hand lowers and curls around the back of her neck.
"No worries Daisy. Neither am I. But we're about to learn a lot together." I say cockily. Then I pull her in, capturing her lips in a kiss that would be the start of something beautiful.
