Chapter 3 by CorbusiersInHell CorbusiersInHell

What's next?

Flight (South)West

As you move at 300km/h to the West, you find only grasslands and forests as far as the eye can see. A bit frustrating. What did that star send you there for? Was it all simply a massive, boring deserted island? You try to cheer yourself up. Lavie's atmospheric pressure calculations determined that Haven Temporary was at around 700 meters above sea level, assuming the atmosphere was similar to Earth's. If the geography of this place wasn't all wonky and the drop to sea level was gradual, 300km shouldn't go a third of the way through the thing, meaning there should be plenty to see. Still...

As you keep on with your bored flight, a tingle courses through your body. You feel as if someone dear to you is, somehow, trying to communicate. Someone you love, not in a familial way, but in a romantic one. Massive red flags since you never had anyone like that, but you are under the influence of the Loop, if some evil entity kills you, the day will simply reset and you will know what not to do upon waking up.

The conscience or sensation urges you Southwest. It communicates through abstract thought, so there are no words or at least none that would make sense. The sensation it gives you is almost like a 'come here you're gonna love this' kind of vibe, but without the words. Which is weird, since as it all happens in your brain, you feel as if you're telling and being told at the same time, but you know it isn't really you telling it (it's hard to explain). It gets more and more excited the close you get there, as if expecting the reaction of a person they were about to give a gift to. You are guided up the mountain range. It starts getting colder, but Flight takes care of that issue.

The landscape shifts from grasslands to frozen taiga. The terrain elevation gets steeper and steeper, it almost feels like the conscience is guiding you to the peak of the not-yet-named mountain, but it thinks an 'It's here! Here!', and you touch down to see the entrance o cave.

"The Hell is this?" You ask no one.

'Something you will love, something you've been craving for your whole life.' the conscience 'tells' you.

"Is this a trap?"

'We know the events of this day will be erased from time anyway. Only the memories shall remain. I am simply trying to help you build an unforgettable one, in a good way'.

You figure the conscience is right, so you might as well try. Loop is not only a magical power. It is one of the Sanctuary's gifts that are tied to its very existence, so no entity here should be able to nullify it as one does with a magical power (Anti-Magic, hehe you got that one too). Nevertheless, you are careful, as you want to bring the information to the reset timeline and hear what the other mages have to say. Dying now would be a waste, even if you can't really die.

You follow the conscience's advice and enter the cave. Were you to be watching yourself in a horror movie right now, you'd be screaming at the TV. As you follow the layout of the cave, an amazing, sweet, smell starts to dominate the place. It gets stronger the deeper you go. A purple light appears at the edge of the tunnel. You rush to it, craving that smell. You finally reach the edge to find yourself in front of . . .

In front of . . .
