Chapter 14 by Leoblade24 Leoblade24

What do you do now?

Get a Price Check

Handing over the finished digital paperwork to Hera, you decide that a price check is needed before you make a decision. “Hey Hera, can you have them wait in the common area? I wanna check something.” Hera raised a non-existent eyebrow (twi’leks don’t have hair) before replying.

“Sure…you do remember that we don’t start assigning newbies beds until 4 pm, right? The only place they’re going is the common area.” Hera stated as she accepted the tablet, gave a final sign off and submitted it to be processed. “The girls are now registered and logged. You have an hour to claim ‘dibs’ before they are up for grabs.”

“I am heading over there now,” You say referring to the merchandise department which is where you go to make the final purchase. Addressing Diana who was learning about her team, you say, “Hey Diana, I need to talk with some people real quick. Hera will take care of y’all for now.” Diana was startled and looked at Hera with surprise, before composing herself.

“I am in your care.” Diana bowed at Hera, surprising you with the amount of respect she is showing before her next statement cleared things up a bit. “You are named for Lady Hera, Goddess of Women, Marriage, and Family correct? Or are you…my lady?”

“Do I look Greek?” Hera deadpanned, shifting her weight and crossing her arms. Her lekku swayed a bit with the movement.

“No… but the gods have been known to shapeshift.” You hear as you walk away and head to the merchandise department. It was a short five minute walk before you reach the room where the merchandise team is located. You see various members of the team working to get characters listed in the national database and online store(s). You also see your contact surrounded by characters and having a loud conversation. You manage to make out something about a garden office party before you reach your goal.

“Hey Larry, I need something,” You call out to Larry, a prime-worlder, who was the main contact employees used when buying characters that were just brought in. Of average build and appearance, the guy seemed grateful for a distraction to end a conversation with an Andy from Parks and Recreation and a Pinkie Pie from Equestria Girls.

“Hey, it's been awhile,” He answered and held out his hand which you quickly shook while the characters wandered away, continuing the conversation/debate. “I haven’t seen you at the games or the bar for at least a month.”

“I had family over and my characters kept me busy. Plus, Henry had me on night shift to cover for Daniel,” you explained, grumbling a bit at having to work the night shift.

“I still can’t believe how stupid he was. What idiot forgets to check if the Asari is an unfixed Ardat-Yakshi before trying them out, the scanners kick out a warning immediately!” He admonishes with both of you shaking your heads. “He’s lucky to be alive.”

“He’s lucky a Barbara from Genshin Impact was nearby and the Asari hadn’t drained any prime worlders or many characters before.”

“The Asari got sold to an Arena on orders from the boss but considering Mass Effect’s story, she might be better off in the Arena.”

“Well enough about Daniel and Asari, I am thinking of buying up my last shipment,” you say.

“Okay, give me a second,” Larry replies and he brings up your last shipment on his computer. “Nice, a variant-B8 Wonder Woman with a Flora-brand honeymoon package, why would someone give a Wonder Woman the honeymoon mod package and make her a ponygirl? …a pre-timeskip Erza with larger breasts, and a Laura who has her claws disabled. That wouldn’t be cheap to fix.”

You start to be concerned about the growing dent in your wallet, which Larry doesn’t notice as he continues,”And a standard Marinette, Gogo, and Shampoo with some cosmetic changes that should be cheap to fix. All except Laura appear to have ponygirl brands. Seriously, why would someone give a Wonder Woman a pretty expensive honeymoon mod package and make her a ponygirl?”

“I don’t know but their loss is my gain,” you reply with a grin. “How much to remove or replace the brands?”

“Maybe twenty dollars total,” he replied matter of factually before looking back at his screen. “How much is your budget?”

“This much…” You hand over your phone.

“How does she fit in that?” He looks surprised and a bit flushed causing you to jerk the phone away and swipe over to show the money set aside and hand it back over. Larry coughs and composes himself.

“Anyways…”

What is the estimate?
