Say Hi and introduce yourself.

Her smile was gorgeous so you decide to say hello and start a brief conversation. You learn that her name is Katherine, but she goes by Kat. Kat and her husband, Chris, recently moved to town for his new job. In fact, they moved into the neighborhood next to yours, just a block or two away. Coincidentally, you learn that Chris just joined the marketing department for the company where you work. She finds this fact intriguing and decides to invite you over for dinner since it is hard to make new friends when you first move to a new city. “What the heck,” you think to yourself. “Sarah and the kids are out of town and I have no other plans for dinner.” With that, you accept her invitation, exchange numbers and set a time for you to come over. She texts you her address and a winky face. “See you tonight, Ryan ;)-“

You get back in your car, throw on your sunglasses and head back home. There is work to get done before dinner after all. Once home, you grab the gas can, fill the mower and finish up the lawn.

With the yard finished, you head back inside to cool off and grab a cold drink. You walk in the house to the crisp, cool air conditioning, open the fridge and grab a cold glass of water.
