Victor Learns About the Risks

It was so strange. I could make Lydia do anything I wanted without having to say anything. I didn't even need to formulate my thoughts. If I wanted her to do something, she would do it, it was that simple.

I watched as she started walking forward, her bare feet padding softly against the freshly cut grass of our parent's huge garden. Every few feet, I would make her do something random, to see if she was still under my control. Everything went well for a while, until she was about thirty feet away from me, standing in the middle of the lawn.

She froze for a couple seconds and I realized I couldn't feel our connection anymore. Before I could react, Lydia screamed and started running away from me in an uncontrollable panic.

"Fuck!" I cursed as I ran after her on shaky legs, tripping over my own two feet several times along the way. "Lydia! Come back here!"

"Help me!" She screamed out desperately as she sprinted towards our neighbor's fence at full speed. "Help!"

She started climbing it when I finally managed to get near her and felt the connection again. She stopped instantly and looked up at me with wide eyes.

"What the hell is going on here?!" A voice boomed loudly from behind the fence. We both turned around and saw the neighbor, Mr. Greenwood staring down at us with a puzzled expression. He was holding a pair of hedge trimmers in his hands; their sharp blades glistening wetly in the sunlight.

"It's all fine, sir" I replied quickly. "We were just playing."

"Really?" He raised one eyebrow questioningly before turning to look at Lydia who was now standing next to me. "Are you alright, girl?"

Fuck! I already had a mind controlled sister to take care of, last thing I needed was a suspicious neighbor.

"Yeah!" Lydia exclaimed with a bright smile. "Sorry Mr. Greenwood. We were playing a game of tag! I guess we got a bit carried away..."

"Aren't you a bit old for that kind of stuff?" He asked with suspicion.

"We're never too old for playtime, Mr. Greenwood," Lydia answered happily as she stuck her tongue out at him.

I stifled a laugh but he didn't seem amused by the gesture and walked off angrily, muttering under his breath as he headed towards his garage.

"Well that was a close call..." My sister said after watching him leave. "But hey! At least we know how far your superpower goes!"

"My thoughts exactly, sis." I sighed heavily. "But now the question is what the hell am I going to do with you?"

She looked up into my eyes and smiled sadly. "I guess it's fun when you wanna fuck me but a bit annoying if I can't leave your side without calling for help."

I clenched my fists and tried not to scream. This was so fucked up. I wanted to punch myself for putting myself in such an awful position in the first place.

I certainly did not expect to get slapped by my sister at that exact moment. I hold my cheek, looking down at Lydia who stood next to me, her hand still up in the air and her face red from anger. My anger.

"FUCK YOU!" I screamed at her as she got on all four on the grass and started acting like a dog. She yipped excitedly and barked back at me.

I let myself fall on my knees on the grass, as I laughed hysterically. Soon, she was laughing with me. We looked like a couple of lunatics.

We eventually calmed ourselves down. Lydia sat across my lap while I cradled her head between my hands. I gently brushed away the strands of hair that were covering her eyes.

If only I could make her forget... Forget about this whole ordeal. Make her trust me again.

Suddenly, I noticed a change in her expression. Her eyes became wide open and seemed to be staring into space; unfocused.

"Lydia?" I asked cautiously, making sure not to jostle her too much. "You alright?"

She did not reply to my question, instead just shaking her head slightly as if trying to shake something off.

Was it working? There was only one way to know. I had to sever the connection. But I didn't want to move away from her, in case it didn't work and she'd try to run away again.

I focused on this new ethereal feeling running through us. The strange **** that kept our minds connected until now. I tried to move away from her, to separate myself. Slowly, I could myself leaving her, like a tentacle sliding away.

"What the fuck?" She whispered quietly, her eyes widening. "How did we get here?"

She blinked several times before focusing back onto me with confusion written all over her face.

"You wanted to play tag." I said with a small smile and ruffled her hair. "You don't remember?"

"Erm... No?" She frowned. "Why would I want to do that? I'm not a kid anymore..."

I burst out laughing and hugged her tightly against my chest as she rested her head on my shoulder.
