(Author’s Corner 4)

Welcome to a much delayed fourth Author’s Corner. How are you, readers?

I’ve slowed down quite a bit with this story as of late, but I’m still here, and still writing.

Part of the reason progress has been so slow is that I feel as if I haven’t spent enough time developing characters beyond Jessie very organically, and it’s giving be a bit of the ol’ writers block. As written, they kind of pop in and out of the story at random and I’m worried it’s hurting the flow of the story. I’m going to try to rectify that from this point on to make the characters seem more important to Leon, and to the readers as a result.

As such, we’ll focus in a bit more on some characters instead of jumping around from one character to another every chapter. There will still be Jessie POV chapters (in fact, the chapter after this Author’s Corner is another Jessie chapter) but I’m going to key in on Lily and Ophelia during the coming chapters and spend some time fleshing them out. We should still be meeting the last two unseen Soul Links sometime in the next ~15 chapters as well.

I’ve been working on some other unpublished stories for this site in the shadows, and I have an idea for a new Soul Links branch that I’m not quite ready to devote attention to yet.

My motivation for writing the Other Links evil branch is at an all time low, however. I like reading a certain level of ****, but I’ve discovered that I don’t particularly like writing it... so, we’ll see what happens with that. I may have to recruit another writer to take that branch over or start it from scratch. If anyone is interested in trying that out, shoot me a message and we can go over what my general guidelines would be.

And... well, that’s about it. I guess I could get out in front of some potential concern/hype and say that the reveal that other’s have been granted various Systems doesn’t mean I’m turning this into an action themed story. There will be conflict, but it’ll be more along the lines of a battle of wits rather than a contest of strength.
