We need your help examining them
“Oh, alright, cool. Umm, they’re uh… contained right?”
You inform her that yes, all of the crabs are in the enclosures. Unless one of them were to be breached, there was no chance of escape.
“Great, that works.”
You instruct her to take one of the small enclosures to part of the room that could be sealed off from the rest with clear glass walls. You tell her it’s in the event of emergency in the lab. As you’re guiding her through the working of the microscope, you remember you’ve left your data sheets on the table outside the examination room. As you go to get them, closing the door behind you, you hear a shatter. Then a shriek as Jennifer realized the crabs were now loose.
You rush to seal the door shut, and quickly scan your eyes to ensure all the specimen were on the opposite side of the glass. Jennifer shrieked and banged on the glass while you tried to explain to her that per protocol, any breaches on site were to be contained immediately, and that you couldn’t open the door without supervisor access.
She began to pace, eyes darting around the little room for sky sign of the bugs.
“How long are you gonna keep me in here!”, she yelled, glaring at you through the window.
