Chapter 4 by Sojaxx

Can Adora Decipher It?

Eternia!

"Uh, Eternia!"

The etchings on the door lit up and the doors parted. Granting the trio entry into the facility.

"Oh, come on!" Glimmer exclaimed.

With the bug monster hot on their heels, Adora, Glimmer, and Bow rushed inside and the door closed behind them. Leaving them enveloped in darkness. And it would have stayed that way, if not for Glimmer conjuring a glittering ball of light in one palm. Illuminating the hallway and the violet, crystalline architecture of the abandoned facility. Despite the grim situation she found herself in, Adora found it awe-inspiring.

"So, Horde Soldier, have you always been able to read First One writing?" asked Bow.

Before she could answer, Glimmer's light brightened and asked, "Wanna tell us what exactly is going on here?"

"I told you I don't know," answered Adora, her disdain for the princess obvious. "I just read the word on the door."

"Riiiiiiight, you just read a word in a language that no one's spoken for a thousand years and the door just opened into a mysterious ancient ruin. Sure."

Not willing to take her sarcasm, Adora rose to her feet and said, "You think I did this on purpose? You think I wanted to be a fat, disgusting princess?" She smacked the ball of light out of Glimmer's hand and got up in her face. "Princesses are monsters! I just didn't know they'd all be fat ones!"

"Monsters?" She repeated in disgust. "You're the monster!"

"Whoa, whoa," interjected Bow, coming between the two. "She did save us."

"I don't care! We can't trust her Bow. Have you forgotten everything the Horde's done to us? The people will lost?" Glimmer started tearing up and took a moment to wipe her eyes with her forearm. Sobering up, she continued, "We need to find another way out of here and get her back to Bright Moon soon. My mother will know what to do with her." Glimmer took the lead, holding the ball of light up with one hand the sword in the other, and walked down the hall. As annoyed as Adora was with her, she couldn't help but notice how big Glimmer's backside was. It was ridiculous...and oddly tantalizing.

"Hey, so," started Bow, snapping Adora out of it. "Thanks for saving us from that bug thing back there when you could've escaped instead."

"Okay, well, I didn't save you," Adora corrected. "I wanted to get the sword, okay?"

"Are you sure it's not because you secretly like us?"

"Wh-? I don't like you. You're my captors." Although if she was completely honest with herself, they weren't as bad as the Horde made them out to be. Glimmer had some nice curves and Bow was cute but unusually peppy. If Catra were here, he'd get on her nerves really fast.

"Suuuure," he replied. They started walking after Glimmer at a leisurely pace. "Thanks for saving us anyway. I'm Bow, by the way."

Adora didn't get why he bothered telling her that but she felt compelled to return the favor. "Adora."

"Adora? Huh. Weird name for a Horde soldier."

"Is it?"

If Adora had to pick her favorite, she liked Bow a lot more than the princess. She wondered if she could convince him to switch sides.

Where do they wind up?
