What's next?
Trouble
“…telling me where your sister is!”
“We have many sisters,” Desire said, stroking Tim’s knee, “Is it Justice that you seek?”
“Yes,” Tim’s voice sounded petulant as he folded his arms under his breasts, “She said she’d have my back, where is she?”
“Finding her is beyond our power,” Desire answered, “If there is anything we can do within our abilities that could help you, please just ask. We want nothing more but to serve you.”
“With anything,” Lust added, licking her lips seductively.
Tim knew that he was being unfair. It wasn’t the twins' job to keep track of Justice. In his old life, his nature had been quite easygoing. Too easygoing, he now realized, considering how many people walked all over him. Now he was different. He had drive. Tim was the kind of man who knew what he wanted.
And he wanted Justice to come and help him out with his sister!
He looked across the table at the frozen Tabby. Nothing in him wanted her sexually. But he wanted to want her. It was the only way he could see to permanently solve her issue, to give her what she needed. The evening had been all planned. He has dressed as sexily as he could, wearing his new contouring red leather minidress that had arrived at his home while he was in class, so Tabby would be more than primed when he made his move. They would have a drink at the pub, make the trades, then head over to Rhian’s apartment. He hadn’t told his professor who his date was with that night (she would probably find it weird that he was taking his sister out) but he'd told her that he wanted to borrow her place so he could be alone with someone. She had been more than happy to let him do it. To thank her, he'd promised that she could sleep in his room back at his house that night, and that he would let her stay the next night, too, when he'd be home for her to enjoy.
She’d even offered to help him with the date. Rhian was one of the most considerate women Tim had ever met; kind, generous, he was lucky to have her. She’d gone as far as to pick up a couple bottles of wine, set up candles around the bedroom, and spread some rose pedals on the bed. When they arrived there, it would be extremely romantic.
But all of that would be for nothing because Justice was nowhere to be found!
Tim sighed deeply and ran his fingers through the silky hair of the two immortals, both of whom had taken to resting their heads in his lap. It was amazing to see how utterly devoted they were to him. If he was going to be able to hold onto his humanity, the parts of his character that he knew were good, he would have to be careful how he treated these two, despite how poorly they treated him. It would be so easy to mistreat them. Either one of them would take it without complaint. But there would be damage done, not to them, but to his soul.
“How is Gary?” He shifted the conversation away from his disappointment, “Is he, you know, still with that lady?”
“Their hearts have been ensnared by our powers,” Lust said, shivering with pleasure as he petted her, “We have ensured that their fires will burn hot for the rest of their lives.”
“Their friends and family won’t understand,” Desire said, “but it will not matter. Their dreams, their longings, are fixed on each other. Nothing short of your direction can change that.”
“Good,” he continued to pet them, “you did well. Thank-you.”
Both Lust and Desire moaned erotically at the compliment, the sound carrying a hint of their power, causing his penis to stir in its leather confines. While he would have accused them of trying to manipulate his emotions before the trade for their loyalty, he now knew that they couldn’t help but make him feel that way. It was their nature. You might as well ask a fish not to swim, or the wind not to blow. Lust made lust. Desire made desire.
“I guess I need your advice then,” Tim said in his pretty voice, the petulance drained away, “If I wanted to get Justice’s attention, what should I do?”
“Her eye has always been drawn to both great inequities and surprising restorations of the right,” Lust said, gently running her hand up and down Tim’s smooth calf, “Perhaps you could perpetrate a crime of some sort. A ****?”
“Yes,” Desire agreed, “A **** should do it. Especially with the weight of respect that you carry. Nobody would dare convict you of the crime, even if they saw it occur. That level of injustice would pull her like a moth to a flame.”
“I’m not killing anyone,” Tim said, unconsciously covering his cleavage with his right hand in shock that they would suggest such a thing, “I just need her to fix some stuff with Tabby! Killing isn’t the answer!”
“A wise decision,” a voice behind Tim said, one that was both old and young, one that made goosebumps appear on his arms, “One that I would approve of. I can see what my daughter sees in you.”
“Mother!” Both immortals exclaimed, scrambling to their feet, looks of amazement showing plainly on their faces.
Tim stood himself and spun to see the newcomer. She was a woman of an ageless quality, looking simultaneously ancient and young. If he had to guess her age, Tim would have guessed somewhere between eighteen and ten million. She was clad in a long, black toga, which perfectly matched the colour of her hair. Her eyes…
Her eyes…
When Tim locked eyes with the woman, he felt like he was being emotionally unpacked and put back together again. His own eyes began to water, and his knees became weak.
“Yes, daughters,” she turned her gaze to the immortals, “I have returned to the plane of the humans. It seems they still somewhat require my attention, despite ignoring my influence for countless years. This one,” she indicated Tim, “most of all.”
“Please be kind to him,” Desire said.
“We live to serve him,” Lust said, “and wish to see him well.”
“Serve a mortal?” Their mother said with chuckle, “I can see that I have come just in time. Now,” she turned back to Tim, “first thing’s first: I shall assist you with your problem. Once that is resolved, I will decide what is to be done with you.”
Tim swallowed hard. He didn’t know who this woman was, but she felt powerful. And when she said that she would be deciding what to do, he felt that she meant it. For the first time in a week, Tim felt like he might be in some serious trouble.
