Delivery Day

I stayed up until almost eleven o'clock waiting for the delivery, it can be silly, but I didn't want my neighbors commenting on what I do so I made a special order for that time, the delivery guy arrived a little later and made the delivery discreetly through the garage, I signed the delivery form and he left without words.

With the two packages still sealed, I took them to the living room, even having to move part from furniture to make room. I thought about opening it right away, but I was overcome with a feeling of insecurity so just in case I locked all the doors, closed the windows, the curtains and even turned off most of the lights.

All done, I used the pocketknife and opened the boxes, and there they were, as perfect as I imagined, Rangiku and Rukia, they were still inactive inside the packaging, but they looked like they were just sleeping, for some reason they were both wearing their school uniforms, Rukia's was perfectly arranged, but Rangiku's was well crumpled and with the neckline open, just looking at it I swallowed dry, it must have been just an impression, but I thought I saw Rangiku smile slightly.

I carefully unseal them both, but they remain dormant so I looked in the instruction manual on how to turn them on and they seem to have a well-hidden button on the back of neck. I press them both… and still nothing, I review the manual one more time and find out a notice mentioning that they need energy “what a pain” I think with a sigh. Without much to do, I get them both ready to charge, when I touch their skin, I notice how cold they are, cold as the dead, this makes me worry.

I stayed in the living room waiting for the recharge to finish, meanwhile I watched a random series on netflix, to be honest I couldn't pay much attention, every minute I rolled my eyes and saw the two of them lying there sleeping and any moment they could open their eyes and wake up. Just thinking about what I'd like to do makes my heart race and I feel the heat rise to my face.
