You know you cannot continue this relationship any further. If you could not control the temptation the first time it came, you didn't believe it would work with you having even more attraction. You remember the words of Rachel.

But you also know, there is no point hurting Rachel if the relationship has to end anyway.

"Courtney, we've been together for long now. But a lot changes now. I'll need to focus. And I think for that matter it'd be best for us to end our relationship on a good note."

"So that's it? You think that's best for you and your make the decision? Not even asking what my thoughts and feelings were?" She said infuriated.

"That's not what I meant," you try to explain.

"I don't care what you meant. I knew this was a possibility and the smart thing to do. But you don't even care to entertain the possibility of a long distance relationship? Or what I would want? Or how it affects me? Just so you don't lose your focus you decide to end it?"

"I'm sorry Courtney, if it came out like that. I didn't"

"You didn't mean it?" She interrupted you again, "your tone suggested it was something you've thought through. So I don't buy , you didn't mean it. But I'm glad you think it is that easy to end. Cause now it is. You're right, we're better off without each other. It's over. Please get the fuck out now."

"Listen, please" you try pleasing.

"Just get out Alex. Good luck with your career and life. Don't bother showing me your face again." She said as she got up and went to her room.
